Been playing and studying HU no limit, I have never played or even used PT4 before I started playing HU Cash.

I have been playing mostly micros(.02, .05), although I took a shot at higher stakes twice and ended up break even in those games over a hundred or so hands.

My question is, is it to early to tell if I am actually good or if I am on a heater? Maybe I am just playing on a site with nothing but weak players? Maybe some combination of all of these variables?

Its weird because I feel like I am mostly out playing my opponents and my overall luck bell curve for these hands I am showing unlucky for sets and flushes and normal for straights.

Also, when I run leak tracker my states align perfectly with winning player stats.

If it is to early to tell, how many hands played do you think I would need to get an accurate picture of my performance in HU?

Sorry for the semi knowledgeable donkness of my post, played live for 12 years and this is my first foray into the online world.

So I'll start by saying congrats on your results so far!

Two things I'll bring up off the bat are "Good" is incredibly relative in poker. What you're really looking to do is be better than the other player (s) at the table you're at.

Secondly 5,600 hands is an incredibly small sample size to really begin measuring anything in your poker game with certainty. With that said, your results would are definitely something to be proud of and excited to see.

The overall luck bell curve is something that I have never heard referenced before and in the end it's pretty irrelevant. You can't control what cards you get or when all you can do is play the hands that are dealt to you the best that you can.

Thirdly on your statistics in leak tracker, that's definitely encouraging! However there are a pretty wide band of what they give for recommended stats and some of it will depend on your play style/strategy development anyway.

In general I think it's more important to focus attention on improving your game and a little less on some of the smaller more trivial stuff. This game is incredibly complex and incredibly competitive once you reach stakes you can start making reasonable money at, I would be careful thinking of yourself as "Good" at 5NL. It's literally the second step in a journey that takes the people who are even capable of doing it years.

I appreciate your insightful response and will focus less on the stats and focus more on my game.

Good luck at the tables
