I’ve been finding that my time at a cash table is often limited to an hour due to different situations. Some things that have affected my decision to leave a table (that didn’t include stuff happening around me at home that made me drop a game) include:
- table emptying out without new “blood” filling seats (I don’t like playing short-handed right now)
- fish/whale getting stacked and leaving table
- fish winning a big hand and promptly leaving to “take profit”
- Changing conditions such as a LAG sitting down to my left and making life more difficult for me
- when I get stacked for a second time in a session (that’s my personal stop loss)
- when I sense tilt beginning to creep into my game
It’s kind of rare that I get to leave a table on my own terms (where I feel I’m tired and need a break). My sessions usually average somewhere between 30 and 45 minutes. On some rare occasions, I go for longer than an hour at a given table.
In total, the longest a cash session goes for me is usually around 1.5 hours, but usually around an hour.
What have you guys experienced? What’s your average session length?
