There are times in cash games where you get good starting hands but the raiser raises a hefty amount.

I am talking about hands like big slick, AQ, or mid pairs like jacks, tens, nines.

You want to see the flop however it cost too much if you miss the flop.

What tips to create less risk but still come out on top?

i suggest you watch a table before getting involved. in live games i often looked at all the tables to see what the action was, who was playing and if it fit my style. then i would put in a wait for that table to open. online you can look at avg pot size, hands per hour and watch what is actually happening. I often make notes on which players i like to play with. i guess im saying know your table long before you place your first bet.

it is really difficult to have a good hand to pay dearly and miss the flop if it had a very high rise and another and another I would give up but if my opponents have only 10% of the value of my chips I would

The key is to read that player.Observe carefully and if does that more than two times the next you time you triple bet him.

position position position. With position you are in control, and can decide to play or quit depending on pot size, to inflate the pot yourself or to quit etc...
