A few of us are reading HOH Volume 1 and have decided we want to do a book discussion. We are going to discuss the book in parts. We are announcing it here in advance so that anyone who wants to join in will have time to purchase the book.

The first discussion will cover the introduction and Part 1. It will begin on Sept 24th. That will give you plenty of time to locate the book and read the first 34 pages.

Anyone is welcome to take part in the discussions. If enough people participate we will continue with other books.

Start your search for the best price now! JD found this for us:

Amazon.com: Harrington on Hold 'em Expert Strategy for No Limit Tournaments, Vol. 1: $23.48

Part 1 discussion - Sept 24th - Oct 8th https://www.cardschat.com/forum/cash-games-11/
Part 2 discussion - Oct 9th - Oct 28th https://www.cardschat.com/forum/tournament-poker-59/#post947415

I don't know if they are still around, but I ordered a copy of this book for 5.99$ used on amazon. There were a few other copies for similar prices, but they may have gone now.

What do you mean by a book discussion? As in what will we do and in what media?

We will discuss what we learned, mistakes we have been making, help each other understand what he is saying, how we might work it into our game, etc.

Great idea. I have already read the book, but wouldn't mind reading it again and partaking in discussion.

If it works out well it would be a nice idea to continue w/ HOH 2 since it basically completes the entire Harrington strategy.

If some one doesnt have the book,i have it as a e-book and could e-mail it to some if needed :).
Sindri, you seem like a cool guy. So I mean this in a serious way...

Wouldn't you consider this to be "piracy"? I could be wrong, but I don't think 2+2 Publishing sells e-book versions of their actual books. What's your view on this?

Tbh i dont know,a friend of mine who plays alot of poker gave my a CD with like 20-30 E-books on it.
Not sure where he got it(can ask him when i meat him tomorow) and i guess there is a chance he downloaded them somewhere.

One think thou if i where to buy a e-book and then e-mail a copy to a friend what whould be the difrence in that and going to the store buying a book and leting a mate borrow it? Just a thought.....

Any way i take no offense to your inquiary and if the mods feel im out of line with my offer please delete my earlyer post, i was just trying to help out :).

I am sure you meant no harm Sindri - but it is probably best if anyone who doesn't already have the book buys it legitimately.

Glad you are going to join us in the discussion!

So any plans for a start date, Daks?

I've got/read the series, but plan to reread and follow along.

Great idea. This is going to spur me on to finally read that book. Will I have to buy a green Red Sox cap and wear it tilted to one side too? :)

I saw somewhere that there's going to be a Poker After Dark "Mayfair Club Week" featuring Harrington and others who used to play a lot there (Erik Seidel, Steve Zolotow, Mickey Appelman, etc.). As tight as that group plays it'll take 3 weeks worth of shows for them to finish.

Well I got the set, just about finished Vol 1, when are we moving to Vol 2?
Very easily readable series, especially if you have already been through most of the others (gordon sklansky brunson etc.)...
So easy to take in, not sure why we need a month to read 30 pages... but I guess its best to focus on small sections at a time.
Lookin forward to the discussion, txs dak.

It wasn't just a month to read 30 pages. We wanted to give some people time to get the book if they didn't have it yet. :)

Though there is at least one of us who needed the whole month lol. I haven't started yet - but I have a long plane flight and time in airports this weekend so I have saved it for that.

Everybody get ready - discussion starts in 8 days.

good travelling then debi.

Prob with these books is you want to start putting them into practice right away, so hope you can get a wireless connection this wknd... or find a casino near the airport (whoops, missed another flight).

Lol - I do have a few hours in one of the airports - and my friend I am staying with has internet. I have a feeling I will wake much earlier than her so maybe I can get a little bit of playing in lol.
