Do you call with a wider range to try and get additional equity out of your hand? So here at my local casinos and pretty much everywhere I've played there are High Hand bonuses. My local has 4 of a kind bonuses and up. So I've realized my preflop range is a little different depending what the bonuses are paying. For instance for about a month 4 of a kind with 2s paid out 1200 while 3s to Js averaged $50 and QKA varied between 50-100. These are all progressive jackpots but I found myself calling large bets with 2s because of the chance I could hit another 1200. Straight flushes paid out pretty big and same with royals. So with all this jibberjabbing I'm doing , do the progressive jackpots change your style of play at all?

No I play the same all the time weather go for a jackpot or not I don't want to give off any tells when I'm playing no way no how. I want to stay calm and stay stable while I'm in a hand so I don't give any information about my hand streangth . If people notice the smallest hint of excitement then they will just fold and give you what is in the pot and ruin your chance at winning that progressive jackpot anyway so just stay calm and play it cool or you will not get the chance to see the river.

I've experienced that in some pokerstars challenges. I felt it affected my game. Luckily enough, I managed to control the situation. So in short, it changed my play, but not to the level that I think only about the prize and play bad poker.

In my experience, high hand promotions really loosen up the table in lower stake games. In addition, there is usually extra rake taken to fund the promotion. While its still important to pay attention and get reads at the table, I tend to tighten up a bit and try to make my money off the people who are calling with speculative hands. You can make a lot of money off people who call 12BB preflop with 47 suited!
