So I play at a few underground games in nyc.

All of them are full of donks.

Every hand (in a 1/3 game) there are 5 people in with trash hands for $30 preflop.

Even with aces, having 5 people in the hand makes you less than a 50% favorite to win.

How do you beat a game like this?

This is how the "regs" play,so when a "newbie" joins in,they can swallow them up,along with their cash.

Wel when those AA survives you can make enough to play... I would buyin half... Also its important to have money for few rebuys in those games...

When you get a decent hand with 3 or 4 people putting out 30 like that I would raise pot again to narrow the field and improve your percentages.:top:

I usually try to raise enough to push a few people out but keep 1 or 2 in so I can get max value. Is this the right play?

Every hand different should post some hands in hand analysis forum some helpful gurus might give valuable insights good luck.

Make good hand and go to value town.

Raise your strong hands more to thin out the riff-raff.

Come in to some more pots with marginal holdings and keep the pots small when drawing.

At least with Pocket Aces you could go all in

Look for physical tells, that may help you

What i've found is it's a game of patience. Wait for the right hand and right cards. They eventually get tired or make a mistake. It's happened numerous times and I've managed to win.

How do you beat a game like this?

Only push in with hands that are premium and try to bet whatever it takes for most people to fold so you are headsup will be a high variance game either way
