Do you use the all-in cash out function?

There is such a proverb - a penny saved is a penny earned

Reviewing my pokertracker stats I noticed this...

Image-13-10-2021-at-12-34.jpg

Whilst doing my challenge I have been using the cashout button on some hands, probably because of the fear of getting a bad beat but this has ended up with a loss overall, the right hand figure, if I just played the hands as normal then I would be in profit, the number on the left... thats a $13 swing!!!! This is over 13k hand sample.

It's good when players keep track of their stats. It shows that you won less than you could have, but the risk of losing was zero. I would like to give a small example.
For example, two tight players with stacks of 100 bb in heads-up at five different tables.
Player number 1 always has a AA hand.
Player number 2 always has a KK hand.
Each of them goes all in on the preflop. The approximate chances of winning are 80% vs 20%. 4 out of 5 hands will be won by the number 1 player according to mathematics. He will win 200 bb at each of the four tables and it will be 800 bb, but he will lose 100 bb once. The total is + 700 bb.
If player number 1 uses the all-in cash out function, he will win all hands receiving 80%. 160 bb from each pot at each of the 5 tables. The total is +800 bb.
But we all know that AA can lose much more often than 1 out of 5 times.:)

This cash out feature is amazing. Espessially if you are on monkey tilt and have your whole bankroll at stake and can't afford to lose it. In fact, I just used it yesterday.

It's great to read all these things cause I've decided from practice that payouts were not profitable and all this information gathered here leaded me on a research about the (inc payouts) tab from the tracker haha...

Still there's lots to learn man.
Phew!!!
Not even started haha...

And I truly appreciate y'all for sharing!

So I just noticed that ACR now offers this option.

This happened 3x to me today as I all-ined 3 times. Every time I was ahead. The first two times I didn't know wtf was going on with the new option.

I lost both as they caught their draws. (Par for the course on ACR)

The third time, same BS, but this time I took my equity, so even though once again ACR magic strikes and the draw hits yet again, I ended up winning some coins on the all in even though I lost the hand.

I guess that's a good way to counter ACR's magic, just take my equity. If I let it run out, for sure the money I actually win/lose will be less than my equity when all the chips go in.

I am liking this. This is actually a change that favors good players.

Got it all in preflop KK vs TT. Forgot about the option to take my equity. Lost again. That's now 4 in a row on ACR. It's pretty normal due to the site's magic, but I just slapped my forehead, should have remembered.

If the opponent has only 20% chance of winning and is ready to try his luck, this is his right. Our stack should not suffer because of this. The more bad beats you get, the more it affects optimal decision-making in the next hands.:call2:

This Is Interesting...

I have yet to see / notice this on ACR, but I undoubtedly will run across it soon. At this point I do not have an opinion, but at least I feel better about being a bit more educated when I encounter it. I am not much of a "tilter" so I am not so much concerned about that, but it still seems there could be some application for this feature.

I will no doubt experiment with it and see what I think...

Interesting thread, all! Thank You for posting!

The truth is that I still do not understand how it works, in a hand a player used it and I win less money than the losing player

The point is that you have to have the best hand at the time of the showdown. By clicking cash out, you stop the hand and the cards on the following streets do not matter to you. If you have a 20% chance of winning and you have activated this function, then you win only 20% of the pot and it doesn't matter which card comes on the river.
For example, you have nuts on the turn and aggressive players are against you, who may have a straight draw or a flush draw on the board. These players often catch their luck on the river and never fold. In this case, if they make careless big bets, then you just push and take the pot. If they are ready to call all in, then you take 70-80% of the pot.

Most of the time when playing PLO and when I run bad in NL I use it 75% of the time - it just protects me from smashing my screen :)

I don't play cash games and so I don't use it. But, I think when I go all-in, then until the end.

I like to do it from time to time, but the option that I like the most is to throw the cards twice, I think it is the best option you have, but the All-in Cash Out also helps, so everyone chooses which of the two options suits him better, this is a game that has variance and sometimes we can not avoid when we get a bat beat, so you have to use these methods to avoid losing a lot of money, in my case it has happened to me many times for not wanting to collect in advance in a hand, but now I am very careful about it, luck to all.

I play for real money and I say I got into a lot of bad, sometimes I play cash with 5 dollars and I only have 5 dollars at that moment while your opponent has a lot of money, I leave with AA and he leaves with 10-K, like running with AA even if it is your last money the probability of you losing and very little more as I said I already lost with high pairs is a matter of luck

Useful feature. Makes sense when you have a 70% or better chance of winning,
and you keep losing your best hands on the river.

A very convenient option, especially when you can't get out of the bad beats tunnel.
