Zoom can be god if you are trying to work on GTO play, but otherwise regular cash is the way to go. By not knowing your opponents as well you leave gains on the table.

Absolutely agree with that. If you are already a winning player, you do however gain an advantage by being able to play more hands per hours, especially during short sessions, since there is no waiting getting in and out of tabels. And maybe - just maybe - for some people this can compensate for a lower winrate.

In my personal opinion poker sites should rake fast forward tables lower than regular tables. That would be fair, since people play more hands, and edges are lower. Many sites have taken steps in this direction already with tournaments by for instance raking turbo events lower than regular speed, so why not also do it with cash games. As it stands, fast forward poker is a little bit of a raketrap at least in the micros.

Began playing zoom PLO and now regular cash games seem so slow. Helps me be more selective for hands. I do better in zoom. In cash games I have to play less appealing hand because I’m bored with having to wait. Not in zoom
I like how they show you who’s ahead. One thing I learn in PLO is try to be more selective in choosing a hand that has potential for straight and flush draws
In cash games I have to play cause I don’t have the patience
Now I know drawing hands in PLO are statistically ahead at the flop

I prefer the zoom games. Faster, but players tend to be more aggressive giving you more chances to win.

The game of zoom is better than the fact that you can get rid of garbage cards as soon as possible. The bad thing is that the probability that you will fall on the opponent’s strong hand is high.:ciao:

I have played both modalities, one gives you the possibility of a faster game and at the same time go instantly with the best hands you choose. The normal Cash, is a little more of patience and it gives you the possibility to read the previous game of your opponents, which you choose?

I currently play zoom tables because I like to get a lot of hands in. I find that when one has a very solid strategy that doesn't require reads on their opponents to be profitable then zoom is great because you can get in 4x the volume you can on regular tables. It's also great for grinding out a lot of rakeback and just printing your EV edge over a ton of hands.

That being said, for a very long time I preferred playing regular tables for 2 reasons.
#1 I could get better reads on my opponents and a feel for their play style
#2 I could play at a calmer pace (zoom is quite fast with multiple tables and is kind of like riding a big wave)

On regular tables I can earn a higher winrate because of all the added information and for the fact I have more time to think thru my decisions. That being said, my hourly is certainly higher on zoom despite the lower winrate because I get way more volume in.

My mind has to work harder, and so my sessions are shorter, but that's just the way I stay balanced and get the most out of the time I put in.

Zoom is my choice, but it is too fast, and always lose a lot.
Better is regular table, you have time to relax and see how you opponent play.
