I started playing cash games and I've been playing 0,02c the bb. I play on a regular 6 way table. How do you guys fell about the zoom option and the 9-way game? I was considering giving them a try, but i got too used to regular 6-way I guess.

I suggest regular tables. Since at zoom tables people tend to play very tight and aggressive, which you have to be well prepared to withstand that aggressiveness.
If you have just started, I suggest regular tables, where you will be at the same table with the same players, and you can read them.

I agree with the above, you're going to probably want to start with the standard tables. This usually means 9 handed tables because these a bit simpler to play on for a few reasons. First in 9 handed vs 6 handed, ranges are going to be looser in 6 handed than 9 handed because you'll be on the blinds a lot more (so you need to play more hands in order to not get blinded out). Once you get a handle on 9 handed you can take that strategy to the other forms of cash games because you have a solid foundation to build from. best of luck!

I'll recommend you a usual 6 person table.

I think improvement becomes for a short while later in a usual 9 person table.

On the contrary, I prefer the table for 9 players. Probably because I am used to tournaments that usually have 9 players. I think it is more a matter of habit. But if you made a profit by playing at a table with 6 players then you will also make a profit by playing at a table with 9 players.

Hello,

9 seated ring games are nice because you get more hands for your blinds. Zoom poker can be very difficult for many players. I recommend avoiding zoom unless you have a deep bankroll. The key to zoom poker is patience and discipline. You will be folding straights and flushes in zoom or you will be losing a lot of BB. Good Luck

Hey cinhos, great question!

When starting out it's generally best to stick with regular tables because you will learn more that way. You can watch how hands play out, develop reads on players and gather more information.

Zoom games are best suited to players who already have a good strategy and want to get a high volume of hands in. It's a good place to go once you've build experience.

As for whether to play Cash, SNG, or MTT this video should help

And here is just a fun one on the power of game selection for live tournaments. Fun to share and wanted to give a bit of extra motivation!

I don't really like the zoom game. But if you plan to see as many hands as possible, then zoom is the option for you. Fast play is not always effective.

It depends from your bakroll if you play 2nl or higher. The kind of table depends from your game strategy and your game style. If you want something fast, then the 6 max is good. If you don ' like the quick rounds then the 9 players is ok. Of course before you enter each table, you must see what kind of players are in that table and if this table is good for your kind of game!

In my experience, zoom is a fair bit tougher than normal cash games. I think I would stick to 6max as it allows you to play a little looser than full ring tables, and playing loose is more fun.

The simple answer is the one where you have the biggest edge. You may have more notes on players in some formats, or you may play better shorthanded, or maybe you play better deep.

i'll play between 4-10 tables of reg speed 9 handed on PS and 888. i play a mix of 5nl and a bit of 10nl. i try to take regular breaks. if i start losing foucs or get tired i'll reduce tables or just quit. i like to play between 3-9pm my local time, as that is when the number of players is at it's max.

i used to play zoom, but prefer full ring reg cash tables. i used to play SNGs and MTTs, but prefer cash.

i think picking one game is best, because you can focus on studying that one format, rather than a bunch of differnet games/strategies/etc

if you like fast action, zoom is pretty good, and if you like plain tables and feel like you are able to get a handle on your opponents, then that is the way to go.

how do you get off the question of asking zoom with 9 to advertise for casinos? I know this thread is old but I don't think this is correct. But as far as the zoom is concerned, I like to play zoom, unfortunately the one with 9 people at the tables is no longer available on ps. But I also think that it is not so important what others recommend as better, that you should just see what suits you best and where you feel comfortable. I don't know if this applies to everyone, but when I go to a cash table I get a message that I have to play at least 6 hands before I leave the table. And since it happened to me that the table was already empty before because everyone had left the table, I prefer zoom because there are more people playing there and so it won't happen to me that I'm sitting at an empty table so quickly.

Try spin & go. There are only 3 players. The minimum buy-in is 0.25. Only the winner gets the winnings. The games are fast enough and for me they are a kind of simulator of stressful poker conditions. When it is necessary to quickly calculate options to make decisions.

If you like to have a short game with patience and good study, the cash game is good, but if you like fast games, there is the zoom and the spin, you decide which one suits you best.
