Some of my posts lately have been on the subject of my good hands in $2 NL FR getting flattened by calls by the villain that were questionable, and some that were downright crappy.

I'm not talking about hands like P-As getting killed by P-Ks on the FLop or another street, P-Ks are GOOD hands and that crap will happen to anyone. I'm talking about hands where players called pre-flop raises with absolute garbage, or questionable at best.

I've taken a little flak for this, and people (several people, actually) have said it should be easy to profit big from players like this, and while I would should agree, I can't. Maybe it's just a really long stretch of bad luck, maybe it's a major leak in my game I don't see this stuff coming.

I've decided to start a thread showing some of these hands, and with fairness, I'll post some that I won with. I won't cross-post hands from my Journal thread where I solicit analysis. While the intention of this thread isn't asking for analysis, if you see a leak, please feel free to say so.

So to start, here's one that happened this morning.

Here's one that I won. Now, a small Suited A is OK to limp with (in my opinion) with as many bbs as players in the pot, but to shove with a raise and a caller behind you is a bit much. What is the 5 or 2 on the Flop was a Q, we would have chopped and effectively lost money because of rake.

AK: why bet so large on flop, make it 5-7BB IMO. A min raise is absolutely terrible for us here. If he had a king.... He would likely flat on the flop because he acknowledges that we will only call his min raise with good hands. Min raises on flops are some of the biggest tells against these players, villain will pretty much always have the 6 here.

Second hand is fine, GII pre well played

My normal raise on the Flop if I'm ahead (or think I'm ahead), but point well taken.

That being said, it still doesn't get away from the shyte he called with. Also, I've won plenty of hands where the villain was trying to bluff me off the hand with a raise on the Flop, and that's what I suspected here.

OK, this is pretty cool how this clown plays. 65 hands and he was 48/23.

Now, people say you have to adapt to play successfully against someone like this. I have to ask "HOW???" My only action is to leave the table.

Same villain won all hands. Only hands of any value I saw him lose were P-Ks against P-As, and he lost a baby flush to a bigger one, but he's still up 166 bbs in 65 hands.

Villain is in the BB.

Here's a guy who popped by one of my tables last night, seen him a few times before and always plays the same way. Comes to the table and usually spews his stack in one or two hands, but win or lose, he plays and leaves. I don't really think it's alcohol induced play, I've seen him at different times of the day, different days. Unless, of course, he's always drunk.

Down 354 bbs in 23 hands. I've seen him take a couple of massive pots when he got real lucky, but normally he's AI Pre with junk and loses

I've often seen min raises used for information.

The board K87 ...

normally a min raise I often see weak kings. If you just call then he knows he's infront. If you reraise your telling him your infront.

So just flat with the nuts against this guy and make it look like a bluff at later streets cuz he just won't believe you.

River: (45 BB, 2 players) K♦
Hero checks, UTG checks

Hero shows Q♦ A♠ (One Pair, Aces) (Pre 65%, Flop 6%, Turn 18%)
UTG shows 4♠ J♠ (Two Pair, Jacks and Fours) (Pre 35%, Flop 94%, Turn 82%)
UTG wins 43.5 BB

Lol hands like these drive me nuts. Worse ones though are when you flop top pair, they get middle/bottom pair, then make 2 pair on the turn/river with a ridiculous kicker. So you end up value betting for them as the board is so dry. Eh they lose in the long run, doesn't stop it being infuriating though.

AQ hand. Bet river too. Against his range, the K doesn't change anything. If he had AK he already had you beat and given how loose he is theres gonna be a crap ton of bad hands he has. TPGK(TK here) is time to go value town against these guys. Just unlucky he showed up with 2 pair. You can't be afraid of fish hitting random 2 pair.

Here's some more from today, all same Villain from a couple of different tables, last count 92 hands and 52/13.

As many times as I've seen it with different players, I still can't get my head around how 1 player can be this lucky this many times in the same session.

Here for your viewing pleasure we have 2 hands.

The first, I was involved in. Not quite sure why the Villain called my flop bet with nothing and no draw, but he did, and once he saw the flush draw on the turn, I guess I wasn't getting him off the hand. If this hand shows anything, it shows I'm learning to try to keep pots smaller so when shyte like this happens, losses are minimized. Maybe I should have raised pre-, but I got out of the habit of raising an opened pot (even if only limped) with baby and middle pairs, or small suited As.

The second one I stayed out of. You have a guy 3-betting with junk, which is fine, it's a bluff. But the way the hand progressed amazes me, where on the turn, one guy is on a gut-shot and the other is on a double belly-buster. Again, maybe I'm nuts, but I wouldn't chase this, would you?

The guy calling just over half pot on a double belly buster isn't a horrendous play. He's probably putting the other guy on an ace, or even a worse straight. As we know, fish will call off stacks with top pair, so he's probably looking at decent implied odds if he hits the river, he certainly will be if it ended up straight over straight.

I agree about what you said about keeping pots small when you're unsure if you're ahead. Lots of players will make crazy bets, bigger than they should at the Micros, which won't give you good odds, or will make you unsure if they have you beat. Waiting for the best spots is worth it, they will call you off nicely too, with worse hands.

you're never going to be able to stop people calling with junk and flopping QUADS with 72o, leave it to your opponent to have to make bad calls and come from behind, just remember getting it in good is gunna pay you off in the long run.

Then, same table, 10 minutes later, this clown bluffs his stack on the River 3 hands in a row, reloads and comes back at it again, so I had no issues what-so-ever calling his raise on the Turn, thinking he was bluffing:

On the last hand what is with that 3 bet min raise on the turn leaving $.26 behind? Pretty fishy, if you are going to 3 bet there just jam.

Also, what are you beating that is going to call that raise? AK? You lose value with that raise and should call and get the rest in on the river so that you can get villains to stack off with weaker holdings.(In general situations)

That raise was a miscalculation in my head, I thought I was putting him AI.

I didn't even consider what he had, look back before the hand, the way I said he was playing.

Here's another Russian River Lover I found, going into this hand I had 16 hands on him and he was 64/0 and down 140 bbs.

A hand a while before this one, same Villain slowplayed P-Ks when I was on the BB with J-2 O. Flop came J-2-7. I bet, he raised, I 3 bet and he shoved, I called. Turn and River were 5-5.

Then this happened. I think I peed a little I laughed so hard:
