I folded because of the rake.

woulda been .40 cents rake, so yeah it was a mistake.
But I didn't want to make the mistake of having my whole stack raked for 1$ profit lol

So you lost $0.95 rather than losing only $0.40 to rake and seeing what the donk had.

When you put it that way yeah
I don't care what he had, just didnt want 112$ getting a %5 rake
sometimes we pay to learn,
It was my mistake for not understanding the rake before playing

That rake table is for fixed limit games. Since the Villain went all in on the river, this must have been a no limit game, and then the rake is 5% with a max per hand of 3$. So calling to split the pot would indeed have resulted in a loss.

I think you did okay folding.
Not enough of a pot to really care.
Don't sweat the small stuff.

I don't see the hand, but I'm assuming the board was showing the nuts?

Based on the rake table you made the right decision. And its a good point to take that into consideration when you decide to call a hand.

I guess it might be worth a discussion from the villain's perspective. Is this move worth making when you know its a split pot? Do you hope your opponent understands calling is a loss and gives you a small profit provided they don't call, or do you just check it down and take your half.

I would be more apt to check it down myself but kinda interesting to think about.

You had an interesting hand there, most likely it would have been split 50 50 after rake if you called, overall i would suggest dont let it affect your future game play, move on and focus on the future.

rake dilemma

some other sites rake even deeper , so I often shove strong starters pre flop to try to avoid any rake . in tiny PLO8 ring games the rake when the pot is split really kills you .

Do you do this specifically in overlay situations?
If so, than thats a Great way to try to get an edge
