When I started to play on cash I was always choosing tables with small number of players like from 3 to 6. I think for the beginner its the best way to learn and get the experience. The more players on the table the more risky but in other hand you can win more money.

6 handed for more aggressive style and bigger swings. 9 players for tighter play and less action. IMO 9 player is an easier experience but not as fun.

Agree with the above. 9 handed is a more conservative game to play with smaller bankrolls. 6 max is a lot more fun but more swingy as well.

Start with 9 if you are just starting and want to learn. 6 handed is much more aggressive - lots of action.

Beginners are usually advised to play at 9 max tables. If you feel confident at these tables, you can switch to 6max tables.

You are going to run into better hands at 9-handed tables then 6-handed.

Starting at full ring will mean, you dont have to adjust to a more short handed game at the same time, as you adjust to cash table dynamics. So that would also be my recommendation. Then after a while experiment to find out, which format you prefer.

6-MAX for life!

Hello buddy thanks for your question.

My point of view is that you must choose the 9-Ring Tables if you are beginner and Tight and 6-MAX Tables if you are Tight but know when to loosen up a bit.
In my personal opinion I believe that you will find the greatest amount of Fished at 6-MAX Tables, so for this reason I defend that most of the money today are in 6-MAX Games.
I also believe that 6-MAX is the future of Poker and sooner or later the Full Ring Cash Game will end. There are only a few tables of Full Ring at bigger stakes.
If you really want to improve your poker game in the future you better start learning how to play 6-MAX.

A 6max game is more suitable. The game is progressive and it is clear who is playing with which card. The fewer players at the table, the better for you.

I always tried to avoid shorter games, with 10-players being my favourite. One issue is the rake-rape tended to really erode into your stack quickly.

Personally I stick to 6-max cash tables I feel that solid hands are more likely to survive.

all depending where you feel more comfortable 6max you have to use a more open strategies in your range of hands remember that there are more cards in the deck I prefer to play 9max there are more fish in the low levels easy to explode

I prefer to play at a table 6 max because it is easier to manage players and we can play more aggressive with a larger hand stroke.

6 or 9 players

I would first ask what game you are playing ? If Holdem , as others have said is more aggressive play. Playing Omaha 7 card stud 9 player tables bring in some pretty nice pots as well with Omaha Hi/ LO.

Again for me it depends on the game I am playing.

9 players if you are just starting to play cash games, start with micro tables with a goal to learn the nuances of the game (cash is totally diff. from tourney). You may have to grind it out a little if you want to learn but if you go to it with an actual achievable goal (like learning) then you should be fine. If you expect to win big right away then good for you. Good luck
