The question being with a 10% rake with $5 max is it possible to be profitable in the long run? The reason I ask is that in the last year of playing I have noticed my only profitable days are the ones where I run like god,or the game breaks early seems like if we play for 8+ hours it seems hard to break even.Might just be me but wanted to ask. Also this is a mixed holdem/omaha game.

Rake bites hard in these games 8 hours in the best players get tired and leak chips:top:

I think you answered your own question.

Doesn't matter what the actual game being played is....Omaha, THoldem….can't beat the rake.

If it were just a timed rake like $8 every 1/2 hour then it would be much more profitable for you.

Good luck !

Rake can definitely suck, but I have not done 8+ hour sessions, almost all mine are in the 3 to 4 hour range. Maybe find a softer table to compensate? Not really sure

I'll make the answer quick and easy for you. NO AND NO. Simply put the pots are too small for this game, the rake is too high and the amount of profit you can turn in a day just isn't enough. In the event you were to beat this game long run, maybe 2-3$ per hour at max. Unfortunately rake + tips will eat up all your profits. Just like any poker game does at B&M casinos for low stake players. If you want to turn a profit you need to play probably 4/8 limit and that's at the very minimum. Go to NL though and learn to turn big profits. If your wondering how i know this, it's because i tried grinding 2/4 and 3/6 limit for a year straight. I studied day in day out and played exceptionally well. Unfortunately you just cannot beat these low stakes games like this.
