Not fixed, nothing else, its the pure luck factor I can`t stand.

Good luck to you all, have a good life and I might cya all again sometime ;)

This is the last 2 hands I played on Pstars (My last 2 poker hands ever!!!). My pre flop play is debatable, but then...I won`t even bore u with the previous hands that were beaten (KK v 88, AA v 44, AK v AQ, the list goes on!!!)

Fold preflop, fold preflop.

Easier said than done!!!

When u have sat and waited for your premium hands, seen them busted one after the other, what else can u do? Wait again to see them busted again???

What are u all trying to say, u only ever play premium hands preflop???

I see 1 reason rite away,,, you are playing Limit poker, in limit poker they will call with anything and Out Draw you,, In No Limit, the advantage is you can push them out, not always though, sometimes you have to fire 3 bullets to get someone to fold, try playing No Limit for a while and see how you do, i Only play no limit, and thats just 1 reason rite there,

there is like tons of factors when you pick your hands you are playing, my guess is you are only playing quality top 10 hands. Do you ever consider your position or your table image? Do you ever button steal? Do you ever play back at someone? your cards shouldn't matter in those instances.

My guess is no to the questions, playing less then quality hands alot of factors need to go into that. From how you are talking im guessing limit poker might be better for you. You really need to shell out $125 and get the cardrunners video's, the cash game videos are amazing and they actually play a LAG style but 3 bet alot and never float that much.

Alot is advanced strategy that might be a little past where you are, I didn't go through your hands but im guessing your bet amounts were terrible. You should watch some of Brian Towson's video's he is amazing NL player.

ok both hands you were in horrible position to play, the entire hand you are out of position and neither hand is that strong to begin with. Running less the quality hands you need to be in late position and it is nice that you would be the one opening in the hands.

hand 1 you open with Q9? why? this hand only plays good in multi way pots, heads up this is junk. This is a hand you limp in late position with multiple people and either hit a monster or fold. Ideal flop would be something like ThJh2h giving you monster draw and also meaning that most likely other people hit hands.

hand 2 again horrible position but you have to open up with this hand if you are going to run it. At this low level KQ is still going to call but this hand is really junk and again you are OUT OF POSITION to run such a speculative hand. on flop is fine 4 betting but once Queen hits you have to slow down. Every draw completed on the turn so why bet?

Against people who are loose calling stations, yes!

There's a reason that they say that 'patience is key' in holdem.

I mean no offense by this (I wouldn't be posting in this thread if I didn't want to help you out, ronaldadio), but you got yourself in these messy hands. Sometimes the cards just run bad. It happens. You want to see what's happened to me recently?

And you know what I'm thinking? So what. Sure, I slam my desk or start yelling after a run of beats like this, but SO WHAT. I can come back tomorrow and get my money in as a %60 or %70 favourite yet again. And I'll probably win most of those hands.

Take a step back and look at those two hands. Can you honestly say you're not tilting?

Stormswa, I was playing limit

Also, after I decided to play the hands I ended up with 2 pair in one and an open ended straight in the other, which was a straight after the turn.

Not specifically u Storm, but there are so many ppl on this site who are so good at telling u what u should have done after the event, but in such an arrogant way its untrue!!!

I think you're being unfair to those trying to help your game and my game. try posting your hands on rec.gambling.poker. You'll get comments like: "That is nuts! End of story!" Does that help you? Or "You're a donkey! pick up knitting or something."

there are nice people on RGP, but most of them are flaming idiots. compared to that place, where they talk about religion to politics, I'd rather much be here than there.

It appears to me you are frustrated with bad beats, and taking it out on the forummers here. cool down, stop posting for a while.

Try posting a HH without the results. You'll get more honest answers that way and there will be a few differences in opinion. It's too easy to be "right" when one already knows the results.

I noticed it was Limit in the 2nd response, sorry about that. Im not trying to be arrogant or mean to you but if you post a hand in this section im going to be brutally honest every time. That is how you get better being able to take advice for what its worth. I make mistakes still all the time and have to re-watch some of my instructional videos. Hell I lost $1700 last week playing poor poker.

Im sooo not beyond mistakes I dont think any poker player can say they play perfect poker 100% of the time. The thing is you did play both hands very poorly and that is why you lost. You got unlucky yes but hell that happens, dont let it tilt you and move on. You say you want to quit and again that is your choice but I hate to see players leave that can eventually become strong players.

After reading phil helmuths book I'll almost never play limit hold'em again. It's way to boring of a game and if you want to play hands like that try out no limit or even get into omaha a little when playing drawing hands is how you have to play and you can see some more flops. If you play limit you really have to play tighter than a freshly rolled cuban cigar. I've also found that low limit online limit hold'em sucks. I would play no lower than 5-10 just because of the players you encounter in anything lower always seem to piss me off to no end. you were getting your money in with the best hands and both times (maybe you should have slowed down with the Q on the turn) you did hit the flop fairly hard and "rammed and jammed" as the saying goes. It happens and I'd be willing to say you'd be back on the poker table soon enough.

I'll tell you some different things...

Raising with Q9s in UTG+2 is fairly loose, but it's not crazy (you were first in). On some tables or situations, it's a good move or at least reasonable. But that's not the issue...

You were 2:1 favorite and lost. So what? You will always loose one of every three such hands. It's just normal...
Such a losses are not a problem. The problem is if you're alter your play because of emotions. And it seems that you do...

Next hand. You limped with KTs in MP1 as first in, which isn't a very good move (although not a very bad one). However, it's a clearly worse move than folding or raising. You probably know it, but you limped anyway.

The folding of KT in MP1 just can't be a bad move. But you didn't, probably because of greed.

Raising (when you're first in) can be a little bit better or little bit worse than folding. It depends (table, situation etc...)
If you're raising Q9s in UTG+2, then you must raise a KTs in MP1. But you didn't. Why? Probably fear, perhaps luck of energy.

What I am trying to say? If you have enough knowledge and still losing, it's because of emotions. Bad beats are irrelevant in a long run.

You were big underdog before flop, but luckily flopped a ten and became big favorite. Then your opp luckily turned a queen and became big favorite again. It happens; it's perfectly normal in poker.

I don't know whether you're winner or looser. But, if you're going to quit - you've chosen a wrong reason...

I can relate completely

:)I have quit several times out of frustration, whether it be play or real, it is just something that happens. It depends on your attitude, when you play , how you play and what mood you are in when playing. If you are having a bad day and proceed to play you will enevitably lose more than win.

But in terms of just flat calling it quits, I have found that a majority of disgruntled players end up in what I call the "Delayed Boomerang Effect". Time will flitter by and you will find the need to play again and just blow it all off as bad luck and then simply return with a different set of priorities, game plans, money management, and even go as far as changing your game style.

It helps tremendously to read up, follow good examples, and look closely at what the experts are doing and try to use their ideas and incorporate your own playing style that mimicks winning strategies. Poker is a thinking game, and although luck does enter into the picture, it is important to push the envelope when the opportunity arises. I find playing limit is boring, but it is an excellent tool to learn patience, strategy, observe other players and see what they do, and also get into a winning attitude regardless of what you get in a hand. All hands are good, depending on the flop and what you are willing to do to convince other players you have the best hand when in fact you have rags deluxe.

Never give up, be patient, study, learn, improvise and be flexible and there is hope. I am learning the same thing and I am certainly no expert, but I work on my game, I don't simply wait for luck to carry me through the process.

Hope that helps. Common sense is the key. Don't overplay your hand, and change your style if other players see what you are doing, and bluffing is sometimes a good tool if you know how.

Thanks to all my friends In CC and I will be looking at your ideas and concepts to winning and not focusing so much on the money, but having a Consistent Game that leads to some success.

Have a great Day all.

I'm not expert in poker by far, but based on what I've read and hopefully learned, both of those hands were not considered good starting hands when you're in early or even middle position in Limit poker. Low Limit hold'em is very lose, and this isn't at all uncommon. I've been rivered many a time, in similar situations, so I know how you feel. That's why I went back and re-read my books on low-limit, and now play much tighter and with more patience than when I started. Even being patient and waiting for good hands doesn't always work, but it does make a difference as to whether you're a net loser or net winner, and I like being a net winner.

Why did you keep playing with only $6?

Either reload or ship out - do not "tilt it".

Why does the OP refuse to come to understand low limit Limit poker by not reading Ed Millers book and book?!?
