Recently playing full ring 1-3 max 300 buy in.
I am on the button with 500 behind. Player in the cut off raises to 10.
I flat with K-9 spades, player in the big blind calls. He has around 550 behind.
Flop comes Q, 9, 4 rainbow.
He leads for 13 into a pot of 30. I put him on middle or bottom pair so came over the top for 35. He called.
Turn came 6h. No flush draws on board. He led again for 55.
I sensed he was weak and called.
River was 7, putting a straight on the board. It went check check.
He showed 6-9 of clubs for two pair.
I think my mistake here was calling the turn. I was representing a queen on the flop and probably would have got him off his hand if he had not hit the 6 on the turn.
Should I have just folded to this bet on the turn? Was there any other way to play this hand?

Yup, should have folded on turn and save your $55.
He was out of position....
He was given opportunity to see cheap flop being in Big Blind....
He lead the flop with 1/3 pot size....
He called your 3bet....
He lead the turn with 18BB....

Given his range, 66 or 44 is possible.

You are lucky not to lose even more money when he check the river with intention to trap you.
Your mistake is not on the turn but on the flop.
Why did you 3bt with mid pair?
What will happen will happen.

Forgot to mention, another way of possibility of winning this hand is to play your position. 3bet preflop and add pressure o cutoff and at the same time kill of the big blind.

Just call the flop bet. Never raise that hand it's so weak to raise. Better to raise TJ or or something you can make the nuts with
