Again, you might think i'm sounding incredibly nitty, but 1st level i'd even fold this. Pair of kings is nothing in O/8, you've not got a playable low, no nut flush draw.

as played, the post flop bet is fine - you want to win it there. After that, you need to slow down, you may have the nuts now, but any diamond and possibly any 9, 10, Q or A then you're behind for high. Any A, 2, 4, 5, 7 or 8 then you're splitting (and will have to stand a big bet from someone with a made low and a flush/straight freeroll for high). all you've got for you are one King, 3 6's 3 3's and 3 jacks. Check/fold the turn.

On river, if it was just winerall maybe i'd call and hope he had busted draws, but it's just a hopefull call that neither has got 10, Q. I think you've bet yourself into a must call, but I personally wouldn't be in that situation here.

No problem Rob, I`m here to listen and take on all points.

However, the points u make raise a few issues for me.

I will raise the issues based on what I was advised by a guy who plays a lot of Omaha hi lo - he does very well!!!
  • Call with any combination or 3 or more 10, J, Q, K, A
  • Call with any combination of 3 or more A,2,3,4,5
  • Call with any pair J`s or better.
  • Call with any 2 pair.
Obviously this was very basic, and other things need to be taken into account.

The main point is the calling with Royal cards/ high pairs. Accepting the fact that I think it is 30% of the time there is no low hand, also accepting that ppl are more likely to play low cards for the low half, would it not follow that playing high cards will be a positive move over time?

Check/fold the turn.

ffs no. bet pot (which i think he did, but not sure if 700 is full pot or not) and let almost any hand make a mistake by calling you

the nuts in PLO8 can be foldable on the flop, but rarely on the turn when there's no low out, and certainly not here (although we're last to act so we'd just be checking)

you're not letting your opponent make a mistake if you just check here, but you get called by so much stuff that doesn't have odds or stuff that is merely playing for a chop

ffs no. bet pot (which i think he did, but not sure if 700 is full pot or not)

It would have been a pot size bet.

I think with Omaha hi lo u almost have to `live for the minute`!!!

So u have to be real aggressive when holding the best hand - an area I have been blown out of the water with on a few occassions when slow playing like I would in NLHE :D .

The brakes need to be thrown on when u know u do not have the best hand.
