Alright boys and girls, grab a chair and some popcorn and listen to the epic hand of my life. I like to call this "the greatest and or worst hand I've ever played"
I go to Harrah's Casino in St Charles Missouri... aka Northwest St Louis, over the water front... federal property, completely legal to build a multi billion dollar casino there.
I show up thursday night, couple weeks back - buy in short stacked to a 1,2$ 200$ max table, with 100$. Online this is suicide mind you, 100 at a 1,2 will get you stacked 4 of 5 times barring a miracle. But this was live, and that's what I do. I cash out that night with 380$, not bad. Next night, buy in with 200, and cash out 740, or 540$ profit. Saturday night, I step it up... Im on vacation - what the hell. I take my 720$ to a 1000$ max, 5, 10$ table. Oh yeah, that's right. This limit was only offered this night, so I was like why not.
After playing tight aggressive for about 3 hours, I was up to 2700$, no lie. And I get a call on my cell that the people im with really want to leave. So I look at what is to be my last hand of the night, 2 ahead of the button, with limpers galore ahead of me already in. (60$ in the pot, 2 to act behind) I have A,J clubs. So I make it 100$ to go.
Both player behind me call. This scares me. Then the big blind asks how many callers, then calls. This scares me more... with 3 to 1 for her money, this lady is playing anything! So the flop. 2, 5, 9 - two of which are clubs. The BB with any two cards (atc) checks quickly, which she hadn't done all night. I tell her "I dont trust you, I know you paired up"... then the two guys behind me check and the dealer deals the turn. I got really mad here, with the flush draw and 2 overs, I was a favorite against a pair, and was going to continuation bet... but the turn was already out there, and there was no point in arguing since it was a J.
Now I have top pair, top kick, and the nut flush draw. BB bets out 350$ which is MUCH more like she had been doing all night. Ive seen her drop to re raises, plus I'm thinking I'm very much ahead now, so I bump it... to a grand! WEEEEEEEEEE. Sorry, I get carried away telling this story. Fold, fold behind me. She calls quickly... no more weeeeeeeeee.
Flop misses my flush, she bets out 500 bucks... at this time there is 2460 bucks in the pot, at 6 to 1, with top pair and top kick, I reluctantly call hoping the woman is full of it.
She turns over 5,2 off suit, and POOF! There goes my 1700$ in one hand. I walk out, up 900$ on the weekend... with a little pride, and a great story.
