Well, it depends whom I'm playing against.

What do you think, would a slowplay be more profitable here in a loose table like it was? I personally don't think so. There were 4 players in the flop, a possible flush draw, maybe a gutshot straight draw, and I had seen a lot of overbetting (it was easy to get calls). As a solid player I wanted to keep playing according to the pot.

^^This is a huge difference.

This is a bad spot to slowplay, you're out of position and very vulnerable so you played it right.

Thanks for the replies.

I've read few books and not many articles on poker, so I don't know the all the terminology. I've never slowplayed that situation and never will (unless maybe in heads-up if I want to trap my opponent).

After having big hands like that blow up in my face repeatedly because of slow playing, I will never slow play something like that again unless there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that I can get a check raise out of someone. And I will only try that once per hand.

Slow playing a set? That looks like trips to me.

You have to bet that flop.
