This is another hand that shows my confusion on making the proper bet with a very good hand.

I bet you guys don't like my preflop raise, but that's what I did.

Certainly I at least call his raise. Or a raise again?

I didn't feel that just making the call on the $3 bet on the flop was right, but I'm always (and this is pretty consistent) afraid of running them off if I feel I have a very strong hand (the only two cards I don't have beat at this point are K8, right?) Trying to extract more $.

So on the turn, he's dead. I get the same feeling and figure I'll make a bet on the river to make it look like I'm just trying to take the pot.

That worked, I guess, but I came away from the hand frustrated because I just didn't know how to bet it properly.

What would you have done with the information presented?

PF raise is fine, though I prefer always opening for 4xbb, 3.5 is ok.

I like the call of the 3-bet, rather than a 4-bet because you have position.

Without any reads on the villain, it seems as if you probably got max value, unless he's the type that might stack off with QQ/JJ on that flop. You have the board so ridiculously crushed that it's pretty hard to get any action.

Obviously, getting such a hand is what we're waiting for ....... correction, we're waiting to MAKE MONEY off such a hand.

I guess the challenge is to get as much as you can out of the hand, and again, that's where I don't really know what direction to go.

Thanks.

20/20 hindsight says you probably could have bet the pot on the river but I can't fault you for your bet here. Preflop is fine as long as that is your standard bet either for an initial raise or from this position. Your flop check behind was fine as you said the only hand you are afraid of was Kc8x. You could only bet the turn if you had a read on your opponent that he might try to raise you.
