To preface this, this guy had been playing ATC the whole night. He'd been exposed yet he still played with the same style. This kind of play scares the hell out of me because every once in awhile they will hit.

Had he not rivered that pair, I would be a richer man. I knew he had inferior cards and he sucked out a split pot. He raised a little more than his typical $4 raise but I still figured him for something mediocre, probabaly Kx or Ax, which he had.

What reliable source is this?

If you have a maniac at the table, thats great! Sit back, relax, and wait for a big hand. then let that maniac keep on betting into you. Its so easy to trap and make money off of maniacs if you just tighten up and be patient.

I would concur. I made about $90 from this guy alone last night. He took down $40 bucks from me when he caught a jack when he had pockets. The board was AK8, yet he couldn't let go of his lower pocket pair. Got lucky and caught 1 of his whopping 2 outs but he payed for it with his other hands.

What you don't want to do against a maniac is calling his big preflop raise with A8. You got lucky here.

yea don't tease the wild animal with hands like A8, let them keep taking the blinds down and pushing people out of pots maybe even you a few times. wait for the monster because they will fall into the trap, and then your paid off.
