okay so i've had a 450BB upswing this month followed by a 100 bb downswing this weekend so I feel my game is suffering a bit due to lack of confidence ( I know my aggression factor has dropped... cause or effect?)

Anyway basically I turn a straight and the betting gets capped then the river pairs and Im on the button and check behind... Bet or check here? No reads, only been at the table like 5 minutes.

No flush. The only thing that can beat you is a full house. You really think somebody is going to check-raise a full house on the river? I would have bet here. :icon_porc

yeah i think we bet that river. the times 2p/trips(since top pair rivered)/lower straight(3 straights possible there) call or even raise make it worthwhile.

Normally I do 3bet with AQ in that position but if i recall correctly, it was a misclick. Worked out though, since I doubt 79 would have called a 3bet :)

Appreciate the comments.

Im a bit dumb when it comes to limit, but why dyou raise the flop?

Is it standard or just being aggressive?

I was so agreeing with the idea of raising preflop and betting the river that I completely missed the possibility of disagreeing with the flop raise.

Now, part of it is because the flop plays very differently if he 3-bets preflop. But as played, raising the flop isn't going to do much for us except risk getting 3-bet by a better hand. It's not a bad play for a free card on the turn I suppose, but I just feel that it's better to get the extra padding of inducing a few more calls on the flop.

I raised the flop to attempt to get a free card on the turn. Good or bad? Is this more effective in a heads up situation?

As far as better hands 3betting me, I feel that most of the time only AA or AK would three bet that board. QQ or lower would be two scared to three bet and a set or two pair most likely would smooth call and pop me on the turn for an extra bet, which they can't do if i check.
