I would feel fine. Most of villain's range is air here, so check/calling is the best line, imo.

I'm not saying that Stu has the best hand in the OP. I'm saying that considering that air is 0% of villain's range is pretty naive.

Belgo, please expand on why/how you are reading the villain this way (based on what?). I agree that believing there's no air in villain's range is naive, but that's totally different from asserting "most of villain's range is air here."

If he's an unknown to us, then we're most likely an unknown to him, right? So how do we analyze the play (and the likely ranges) if we were watching both players' actions?

I think there's a few things going on in Belgo's hand ...

1. He probably interprets Belgo's 1/2 pot bet on flop as weakness
2. He has a lot of Ax and some people would take this line trying desperately to rep trip 7s and try to push us off a chop once the K comes.
