Not a fan of checking top set vs limper OOP. Value bet the fish
Betting flop betting turn & have to shove river I think with that SPR.
When you bet twice (lets say around 2/3 on turn) he'd have around $10 left on river on a $35 pot. Can't do much than shoving

But if you are sure the V would overcall draws etc, could bet bigger on flop to make a pot size shove on turn.

Interesting don't you just love those AA pairs.

I cant understand why both players check at the end of the hand that takes some serious brain work!!

Pretty criminal that you didn’t get your stack in. Bet the flop, bet the river.

Also, if you have aces, and you flop an ace, the board is not tricky.

i think i would value bet the river but i'm not sure what amount he would call since he was chasing an unknown "something" that he likely didn't hit

Why no bet on the flop? I don't play these stakes yet, but I would bet the flop 100% of the time for value and protection against flush draws.

I would bet flop, against a thinking player I would probably check.

Would bet turn also, assuming he called flop, you could probably bet big on the turn hoping he has no idea what equity a flush draw or gutshot has

River is a bit tricky, X/F or B/F might be good (assuming we bet flop + turn) because he seems to be passive. And I don't think we can discount a 2's even though that would be sick. But I am not sure I would be able to make that lay downs :)

It was a while ago I played so my thought proscess might be flawed and I also noticed that hands on him is quite low so maybe I am making to many assumptions and getting exploited

I would say you played the hand fairly well, every draw and their momma hit that play, the only hands you'd get value from are Ax and maybe Kx, KK would have been more aggressive hoping someone had an A so you don't have to worry about that.

Checking the flop was horrible. All kinds of flush draws and Broadway straight gutters, plus smaller aces, maybe even a King will call.

Checking that flop is terrible. Straight combos are calling also flush draws... so much money to be made and it also protects your range when you have AJo

Whats with the sizing preflop?

I agree, betting flop for max value. What are the odds that villain calls you on the turn but not the flop? Unless he happens to spike a pair on the turn, then hes most likely calling you on the flop too

Dont be afraid to go for value.
