Odd hand on ACR this morning. Can't decide if this was a hero call based on my situational reads or if I just got lucky.

Villain had obviously been at the table for a while (and done well) since it was capped at $400/100bb and she started with $1680/400bb. No other data on V though.

This was odd out of the gate. So what would take that line with the check/raise on the flop? A7? A set? A nut flush draw? It was worth calling to see.

This time betting out on the turn seemed peculiar too. Especially a full pot bet. In that case an A7 or a set would be fine but I could also see it happen with 88+.

By the river, my thought was that the only thing that had me beat was 77, 66, 22, 55 or a 4. I seriously couldn't put her on any of those. Or obviously QQ+ but there was no raise pre-flop that would have screamed QQ+. Plus, it was a down bet back down to about 1/2 pot. If she was that serious about a monster—especially with my record of calling, why not fire big again?

Dunno... it was odd straight through, but it went well.

If you think V is aggressive he should have 3-bet preflop with low pockets like 55 or 66. And of course he would with overpairs as well. That makes the call on the turn more standard since there is no other card more neutral than a 2 of diamond.
In addition, 45 would seek maximum value gain, since he would also gain the benefit of protection by denying equity to dominated draws.
I'm also having a hard time finding hands of value in villain's range. 76 should have fired harder on the flop, considering it's a wet flop.
The only hands by value that I consider more likely in V is 89 and I would give him at least half of the possible combinations, but still I think if we get to the river the call becomes acceptable for that price.
You have a J blocker which isn't optimal but it can help you represent some semi bluffs that V might want to catch if you decide to bluff clean air, as it looks like V slowed down a bit on the river.
Greetings.

IP on the flop, just calling the flop is fine. OOP I'm 3-betting there w/ JJ+ on low flop. As played, you need to be shoving the turn. Your opponent is committed at that point, and you can't expect them to make dumb 1/2 pot bet river bluffs. If you're playing their range, the turn is when the money goes in. That's kind of a 101 at these stakes honestly.

She looks like she is agressively tricky. I probably would have flipped a coin or called her to see what she had.
