I'm in the BB once again and the Guy to the Left of me Raises $80 after I had put in $20 and so I just call, after giving it some thought holding 2c2s

BoardFlops [3c4s9d]
I check.
Seat 3 Bets: $80
I think for awhile and do Call.
Turn [Qc] This card does Scare me.
He bets $50 A smaller bet than before, So I figure him for
Weakness and Raise $200 more but he calls Suddenly.
River [10c]
The club doesnt scare me so I bet $200 again and he ReRaises
to $400 more. I knew he was very Aggressive but after much thought,
His play seemed way to odd for me and since I was up almost
$5,000 anyway, I called he shows AKs in spades.
I have 2's and the Winning Hand.
Now I know i might have played this terribly but I need Opinions!
Tell me anything that I did wrong and Should I fold the deuces,
in the future? Like I said this guy was aggressive and
I figured was only raising because he had position and I was
The only one in this hand.
:joyman:
Thank you

Well if I do decide to play pocket 2s I will call to see a flop and if I don't hit trips I will fold. You might think that your call was good because you won that hand but in reality it's definitely a losing play.

So you called a 4x UTG raise from an aggressive player with 22, then called him all the way down, and now you want to know if this was a good play??? What do you think?

Also you say: "I figured (he) was only raising because he had position and I was the only one in this hand." But if I read everything right here his raise was from UTG and it was folded around to you. It's not like he was on the button and just running a steal here. People generally don't try to steal blinds from UTG.

Might want to let those deuces go next time unless you hit the set on the flop. If you can't bring yourself to fold on the flop when you miss you should just fold them preflop (you'll save yourself a ton of $$).

I totally agree with WV (and everyone else). 2s will only cause very costly problems if you play them like that. I might pay to see a flop, but if I don't have trips after the flop, I'm not paying a cent to see anymore cards. Playing against an aggressive player makes this a tempting move (for you it paid off), but in the long run it's not a good choice at all in my opinion.
