I personally would not overbet the river there. I was thinking that when villain checked back the flop with two clubs that they would rarely have an ace in that spot. Turns out they did so I think they were playing the hand from the start as a bluff catcher. I think (no way to know) that you were going to get called no matter what you bet unless maybe a 3rd club comes out. It would take you two cards to get to a straight with that runout so I dont think river is enough of a scare card to overbet. With your hand I like checking the river more there and bluff catching instead of leading out.

Honestly, I think folding to the pf 3 bet would have been good. You're out of position and have 5 high...

I don't think a river overbet is adding much EV here, I would think similar EV to the size you used. Sure, sometimes it will force a fold but when it doesn't you just lose more.

To me, the clear way you can improve EV in this situation is to not call the 3bet preflop out of position with such weak cards, you're just putting yourself in a really tough situation for the rest of the hand.

Yes, over bet the river versus your opponents range here. 9.50ish range is probably enough.

John A is giving you the correct answer for high stakes. But this is roughly HU and against an opponent that probably he doesn't think you have Kings, Queens or Jacks in your range, to represent the best aces, on your defenses turn / river. In fact the villain here can to consider is situation to be an advantage for his rank, because with broadways he can win more dominated bluffs and his calls will be more profitable, when he does not block those scales in your rank.
Greetings.

Before getting to the river I think you should bet bigger on the turn. You have sets and two pairs in your range. You could go 75% or even pot on the turn. I would like overbet on the river since you block both high straight and set.
