Continuing on fundiver's last post I figured I'd share some horror stories and see if there's any escaping these beats.

Hand 1: We have 1.2k hands with V and his stats are VP 24 PR 16 3B 5. How is he limping 77 here and why is this flop so nasty?

Nothing to do here in my opinion. In the first hand his limp-call range from SB should contain a lot of crappy KX, and its totally plausible, he would check-raise trips on the turn and then stack off. In the second hand you got it in with the nuts, and the only thing, I would do different, is to 3-bet slightly larger out of position. I might also bet slightly larger on the flop, but downbetting on flops is very modern and not exactly a mistake.

Thanks, agree 3 bet could be a little stronger. I often downbet 3 and 4 bet pots depending on flop texture. I think it fits well here. Many players don't know how to react to it. Fit or fold still fold, action players seem to call wider and spaz more. Also saves some money when we get caught c-betting As5s and miss.

You played both hands relatively well.
In the first hand, they have more Kx and flush draws than they have full houses on the 2s turn card, stacking off seems like a no-brainer.
The second hand was painful but still well played.

Well dear mate, in situations like this where the SB limps and I am in the BB, I am simply raising 100% range from 2 NLHE to 200 NLHE. So, because I open such a wide range, I am not raising 4x, but 3x, but this is just a small change.
We are c-betting almost 100% of dry flops like this and when SB calls we are giving up a fair chunk of our 100% opening range IP x Limper. We must ask ourselves which hands limps from the SB and calls 1/2 pot flop, giving there is nothing substancially connected OTF.
OTT, when SB raises, we know we are way behind but our hand is way too strong and can improved to some Rivers, so in the case SB is bluffing something our a proportion a jam would work fine here, considering Hero started the hand with much more stack than the SB, so here we are already commited, SB when raises Turn it is not folding any longer, so I see no point in calling.

Yeah, all standard, perfect move OTF and it is what it is.
