This hand was fairly normal until the river, then it blew up.:eek:

Hero is playing deep, LAG. 1000+ BB
Vill. 1 is TAG, playing large stack as well, around 950 BB
Vill 2 is playing around 250 BB, very LAG. Sorta dumb, flailing a bit, can't quite figure out what he is doing with his lines.

Action folds to V1 in UTG1
V1 raises to 70
Folds to vill. 2 in co, calls 70
Hero is Bttn with Ad Kd
Hero 3-bets to 400.
both villains call.

Flop: Ah As Qc Pot: 1200

vill 1 checks
Vill 2 bets 800
Hero calls.
Vill.1 calls.

Turn: 4d Pot: 3600

Vil 1 checks
Vill 2 checks
Hero bets 2000
Vill 1 calls
vill 2 calls.

River: Qs Pot:3600

Vil 1 checks
vill 2 bets all-in
Hero raises to 5000
Vil 2 raises all in
Hero?

Yucky Yucky Yucky.

I immediatley thought slowplayed QQ. What else can he jam with? Villain 2 has an ace, it is pretty obvious. That means that i have the last one, vill 1 can only have a Q or QQ. Is this a clear call? Yes, i am only losing to one combo in the entire game but what else can he have? It is super hard to bluff at it when you know your opponent has aces full.

Also is my line really stupid? I figured i would just let villain 2 bet at it and i could raise the river when he jams, but when the blank peeled off on the river i figured i would lose value from some weaker aces if i didn't bet.

I think your line is ok but river raise is not necessary, don't think V1 will continue with QK on the turn.

V1 does look like slow played QQ, and as V2 is committed, I would find a fold on the river.

Best case you are against AQ from V1. Nasty spot

On the rare ocassions i play live the bad beat hand is *aces full of tens* gets beat and that's a lotto payday on the Bad Beat Jackpot! At my spot I think the pool is 10k or 20k

Gotta use both cards for jackpots almost always. (We dont here).

OP: Hand looks good. I wouldnt raise river here. I agree it is a fold, albeit a very close spot.

As for the jackpot, where i play its quads+ or aces full of kings using both cards.

Not raising river makes sense, i guess if i knew that vill. 2 had the other ace then the only thing that could call me is QQ. Thanks!

Hero tanks for a bit, then folds. Villain 1 shows QQ, villain 2 shows AJ.

Thank your for the correction - you are right totally forgot you have to use two cards to be eligible for the Jackpot Lotto Pay Day and I believe 5 people have to be dealt in depending on where you are playing. Those are the rules here in Edmonton AB at the Palace Casino in West Edmonton Mall :elefant:

lets look at this backwards not as "what would villian am with" but "what would hero call a jam with". the only options are naked ace, ace queen, queen/queen, and (rarely) naked queen. all other hands are likely sitting ducks. if villian has a queen he can rule out hero having QQ. hero either has aces full of queens or queens full of aces. hero would actually consider folding aces full of queens, second nuts against literally the only hand that could beat him in this spot.

it's an amazing push, perfectly timed to do it's job, put hero into a hero call / hero fold situation. i think if you are rolled correctly for this game you have to call him, if you're not rolled correctly you shouldn't have been playing to begin with.

bluffing is really stupid in this spot. Remember, another player is already all in, (and we both know he has aces full) so if he doesn't have an ace or QQ all he can win is the ~200 BB side pot. (and he would also have to show his bluff.) If he can risk his entire stack for 200 BB, he can have it lol :D

And yes, I am rolled for this game. Over-rolled, actually. :)

True, good point. I think that villain 1s check/call line looks much more like QQ than the bet, check/call, jam line of V2.

Also why does V2 just donk it with QQ on this flop? He would have the best hand by far, slowplay makes more sense, big aces are still going to bet. Also, QQ would 3-bet more often i feel like than flatting the utg1 open.

You are forgetting the hand that busts my AK the most... AQ. Well, maybe not as much as AA. Typical hard grinding hand, but that is my immediate thought when i start getting called with that flop. Tough luck for somebody.

You started with AK a hand I never like much. Either wins small pots or loses biggies. Congrats on finding a fold in a very difficult situation.

I do agree with your assertion. However, I don’t quite understand how donking here with A or Q makes sense. Online my levels OTF his range would be quite wide when doing that even in 3bet pot. I’m not skillful enough to understand finesse of donking when done properly. So from my perspective villain donking on that board is questionable, and if his move is questionable then his range is questionable too and continues to do so for the rest of the hand (+your notes about him). Villain 1 donking with nuts to get the money in on the river because you guys are so deep would make some sense, maybe.

I can see that i guess. I do note him as a flailing idiot. It is definatley a board that our ranges connect with, so he can actually donk it fairly safely.

Thanks for pointing this out, it certainly proves that you can never assume! (which i sorta did, and thats bad and my mistake )
