UTG: $2.55 (128 bb)
BU: $0.80 (40 bb)
SB: $1.18 (59 bb)
BB (Hero): $4.97 (249 bb)

Pre-Flop: ($0.03) Hero is BB with A K
1 fold, BTN raises to $0.10, 1 fold, Hero 3-bets to $0.30, BTN calls $0.20

Flop: ($0.61) 5 Q 6 (2 players)
Hero bets $3.80, BTN calls $0.50 (all-in)

Villain Stats: 20/14 (256 hands)

Wasn't sure how to approach this spot preflop. My default is to 4x, but that reduces fold equity on the flop with low SPR. Should I have just shoved this pre?

On the flop I thought I might have good fold equity on a dry board and outs to an overpair if he calls. The problem is I am blocking a lot of his missed broadway.

I think that with a SPR of less than 1 on the flop, your jam is fine.

Sometimes you'll be ahead, and sometimes you'll be behind and suck out by the river.

P: 3bet jam > flat > 3bet to 3x > 3bet to 4x > fold.

Especially true vs 5x open.

BU isn't a nit, so his play is weird: 5x open looks like he isn't folding in any scenario. Could mean spazzing with his last money in his account or massive strength.

With 256 hands you should have some idea of what he's doing, and adjust accordingly.

F: as played, yes, just jam any flop. Don't consider anything else, even though we have close to zero fold equity.

vs a 40bb guy I just prefer to 3bet allin this on late positions. Especially vs 5x open. I don't want to play AKo postflop. I just want to realize my all equity as fast as possible and be a favourite vs his range.
