This is a hand when cashing out is an option on all of the betting rounds.

What I am curios about is do you guys use the cash-out option when available and if you do...when?

First of all it is very important that you always play with 100bb stack without exceptions on the micros. Also place it so that you always automatically rebuy takes place when you are below 100bb.
Secondly you should never use cash-out so you pay more rake in the long run this is not for people who want to be a winning player on the limit.
And also what is very important is always play according to bankroll management. On NL2 I would recommend you to start with 80$ so 40 buy in. But minimum should be 30 buy in so 60$.

Thank you for your reply. I agree I should play with at least 40 Buy-ins. The reason that I play with a stack of $0.50 is because I'm using a short stack strategy in order to build my bankroll without much risk of going broke.

I would recommend you not to play min stack strategy poker on the micros. Fish must pay you maximum and if one has 100bb and you have 40bb and beat him well then you only get 40bb from him.

I would agree with others that you should play deeper but the rare times I play cash I dont top off either so there are times where I am playing with 60-70 BBs so I am not going to rag on you for playing short. I think that if you are going to play that short stacked then you should play it as you did in this hand and be looking to get it in pre. Here, you are only 30 BBs deep and most openers will be 3x since min betting does not make sense in cash games where everyone is usually deep. Therefore, when you jam and even if you are not called you are picking up a decent amount of chips from the folder so you should be looking for spots to jam and JJ is def a jam spot this shallow. It just didnt work out this time but you did get a much worse hand to call which is exactly what you should be hoping for.

If he wants to play a short stack strategy, then who cares? Maybe he's practicing so he can eventually play higher limits.

As far as your question... no, don't take cash out options. That's for fish essentially.

He can do whatever he wants. I just learned that full stacks are always the best strategy on the micros.

Cash out is good option when you play versus amateurs.

When you play versus regs "run it twice" option is better.
