The guy's 10th hand, nothing wild so far, do we call this? Was the initial bet size of up to $2.20 ok? I'm thinking majority of the time we're beat here but we're getting decent odds. Do enough AK, AQ, and JJ (and possibly even 99 or another lower pair or A-rag donk play) hands justify a call here?

It's a AA, KK for 98% of the time but you never know until you call. You should call.

Damnit- hate that the original raiser is pushing out of positioon, and QQ is one of least profitable hands.

That being said- only 3 hands are ahead of you preflop, and "it's the micros"- meaning he may have 9 10 s00ted for all you know.

I'm calling, and not surprised if I see either AA or 88.

As for your raise- I'd make it $1.50, but generally, I'm not trying to push someone out of a hand I think I'm ahead in.

since u reraised it to 2.20, u're pot committed. qq is a great hand and people in micro stakes overvalue a lot of hands and u'll be ahead of most of them.

Hmm that is a toughy. Even at 50nl where players are generally more aggressive, I might find a fold, and at 10nl where (according to you :)) the players tend to be more passive maybe a fold would be correct.

Also agree with the bet sizing in that it's a little much and it nearly commits us to call here. I think $1.50-$2 is fine. It invites those worse pairs in and gives you room to get out of the way if need be.

Yeah, I didn't pay attention to the fact that he had a short stack. I wanted to bet enough so that I'd know from a raise I was no good. But he doesn't have much behind. To make a long story short he had JJ and the QQ held up, I'm just still not sure whether that was a good call or not.
