Villain is a ~20/10/1 guy I've run into before, not much history between us. I've been tag again.

Keeping our stack sizes in mind, what's the best way to go about this hand? We don't want to blow him off KQ/KJ but also need to make sure we don't let him draw cheaply (or give off reverse implied odds ) if he's doing this with 9Th or something similar...

I agree. Build that pot up and hope nothing really dangerous shows. I really am not too concerned about the flop but you have to bet to not give him anything cheap.

I think if you 3bet now then your gonna scare his K range off unless he has fl dr to go with it. He could have 78 and he could have sc's that connect with the 78. So all in all I think there's way too many dangerous draws out there to call. 3 bet him and hope he's a donk that will call with tp.

There's a lot that can happen on the turn that will make us a lot less certain about our hand, especially given that this is an unraised pot and we're OOP. At the moment we're basically afraid of 88, come the turn we could be playing while afraid of all manner of draws that might or might not have hit.

So basically, rather than trying to drag things out with the intention of gaining more value on later streets (as we would probably do if it were a K74r flop or something), I'm happy to 3-bet the flop.

Flat call and use our mental powers to bring the K of hearts. A king now has trips and the flush draw hit. If we then think he had just a K we could use our mental powers to river us quads over his full house.

But in all seriousness we have to raise here. He could be on so many different types of draws, he could even have a straight flush draw where he thinks he could be ahead but because of board pairs he doesn't have as many outs as he thinks he does. Unless they have 88, in which case there's nothing we can do, we assume we're ahead, we can't lay this down no matter what comes on the turn (can we really put them on a flush draw with all this action, and even if they did we still have outs for a full boat or quads). Especially with the deep stacks, you need to raise here, I say to around $35.

bet. It's not a scare card for villain, does he have you on 8x? I don't think he's making that call with a flush draw, especially after tanking. I'd bet $40 here, hoping for a call so we can shove on the river (unless of course it's another 8, then we just cry).

You cant expect him to check back with so much in the pot, but if he does, we can assume he has showdown value and make a value bet on river. Ideally though we want him betting into this turn, then we can come over top and take down a nice pot.

This guys aggression numbers don't scream that he'll reraise on a draw but I guess it's possible. My guess is that he holds a pp like 99/1010 or he limped with a weak K. I doubt he was drawing.

Well I'm thinking that if he tanks he's probably not on a flush draw, maybe Kx both hearts, because other than that he folds there without thinking. Most of the time this is a made hand not sure if it's good or not. If he decides to call he thinks he has us beat. Most of the time when a non-scare card hits he'll call another bet too. Unfortunately it didn't work out this time.

I think you're bet on the turn was a bit on the large side. On the flop its good to bet aggressively since you don't want to be outdrawn and lose to a flush or straight. But then the turn gives you a boat and now you don't have to worry about either a flush or straight, you want him to make a flush or straight. Pot was $61 on the turn so bet enough to let him draw to his flush or straight. Maybe bet like $25 to $35.
