So mad at this hand. Had pok 10 @ UTG+3

Preflop - Everyone folds, except UTG+2 that raises 3x preflop, I call with my pok 10,

flop is: 10h, 5h, 4d

UTG+2, checks

I bet .40, I get a call from UTG+2

Turn: 3s
UTG+2 checks, I bet pot and villain calls

River: 7c
UTG+2 checks,
I bet pot, and villain goes All-in

I didnt believe he had the pok 6... he didnt. he had A6os

I can understand your frustration, and that river card is horrible.

Sometimes, it's best to check back the river. By betting, you gave him a chance to check/shove. One of the many benefits of having position in a hand.

V will lose in long term calling POT with a gutshot and overcard. But I agree that checking back the river or betting small is the optimal play.

Which worse hands will call a pot sized bet? A-7? 7-5? Even JJ, 9-9 will have hard time calling. The fact that he checked flop means he didn’t have those in his range anyway.

Im so mad!!!!

After that I hand i quit for the day, and I decide to play today. And this just happened:

literally I enter a table with 3 people.

Button - raises 3x, SB folds, I call with J9os

flop: Jd9s9c,
I check,
Villain bets pot, I call

turn: 5c

I lead with a very small raise, villain pops it pot, I call

river: K

I leat out a 1/2 pot size bet, villain goes allin

I call,

Villain has pok KK

Thats how the river has been treating me the last two hands. Im done with this game for a while, feels like its rigged.

Next time try to 3-bet such strong hands, you will get more from it
