Bet bigger on the flop, bet bigger on the turn and on river people like this just get scared that they are oop and you might check back and they just bet.. if you know he is doing this just fold next time when this situation happen, if you didn't saw that about him it is okay to call.. not ideal anyway

I don't think you should have called the full pot bet on the end absent any reads... if you know your opponent bluffs scare cards then maybe, but I think he earned this one even if it is a bluff.

Bad run-out this time, you can probably bet bigger on flop and turn as mentioned. As you move up, against decent players you will not get three streets of value with top pair / good kicker and you should look to check a street, but at these stakes continue to bet most river cards and expect to get paid.

Better luck next time.

sportsguy16!!!! Stop posting player names!!

You fold to that river bet. It is an odd bet size, but what kind of bluffs does he have here? What 2 cards call down 2 streets and then overbet river? I can't think of a single one that you beat.

He's value betting at least 2 pair.

Maybe there are a few maniacs, who will bluff like crazy on a scary board runout like this. But in my opinion the general population tendency in the micros is, that this is mostly going to be a straight and maybe once in a while a hand like A3.

So I prefer to let it go, and I actually think, hands like this are a key to long term success in the micros. Besides the pure EV calculations, which are realistically not looking great, folding also decrease variance, and it makes it easier to maintain focus on the next hand, we are going to play.

Just look at the forum and see, how rarely people share hands, where they folded, compared to hands like this, where they called and lost a big pot at showdown. Those big showdown losses tend to bother us a lot more than folding. So even if calling is neutral EV, we are typically better off folding to make it easier to stay away from tilt.

What 2 cards call down 2 streets and then overbet river?

Missed hearts could easily play like this. However the question is, is he bluffing enough of the time, and I agree, that in the micros the answer is no, unless we have a specific read on him. Often times micro stakes poker is just stupidly simple. The guy rivered a straight, so he lead out for more than the size of the pot. It is exactly, what it look like.

On draw heavy flops, bet more like 66-90% of pot. Same with turn. When he donks river with 4 to s straight, you should probably let the hand go.

Hi! I think that the opponent has put together a better combination on the river, I tend to fold. However, it would be more interesting to look the hud statistics.

Bet bigger pre-flop and on the flop. If they still call after that, then it's just a big cooler.
