You have to bet that flop with AA, lots of hands calling you can get value from. Yes some BB calling hands do hit the flop, but many more do not and are drawing. You probably have 70-80% equity vs villains range here, roughly.

As played the turn is a brick and I'd be raising villains lead, for same reasons as above.

The river is another brick. You've played this passive which is completely wrong. Don't slow play aces, stick your money in until villains gives you a reason to think you're beat.

You can't be scared of a hand like 89 on this board and just go into passive mode. C bet the flop with a plan to bomb good turns and take it from there. When villain raises you or donks into you, THEN you've got some good information and a reason to slow down or lay down.

Only a tiny part of villains range beats you here, and you need to be looking for more value and giving villain decisions to make and chances to make minus ev calls when you're likely ahead. All the times you value own yourself vs calling stations will be made up for by the times you win bigger pots against them.

I agree with Green.

That is a very wet and dynamic flop. There are all kinds of hands that will be calling your cbet.

From there, you can base your actions from what information your opponent gives you.

You should have bet the flop - you have a dominant hand, don't get cute trying to disguise it and let them draw out to a straight/flush/2 pair.

Even if they fold, you're winning money which is the aim of the game. Obviously you can't just shove, but you can 1/2 pot bet 3 streets and get calls from all sorts of worse hands.

If the board turns ugly then throttle back as you only have a pair at the end of the day, but given how the board ran out i like the turn and river bets

You're in position, the board is sopping wet, and you only have top pair. You can't afford to give your opponent a free card. You have to charge him to draw/protect your hand.
