BB checks, Hero ???

I probably should've just folded this preflop but oh well. No reads on villain but this is 10/20. Should I bet here or just check behind?

I agree, fold 753 UTG.

The v-bet would be thin, but I don't hate it. Fish will often make a call on the end with T's or higher, since they'll convince themselves that you're snowing or something.

If we assume that villain will be calling you with a jack or better (and that villain has an 8 draw), he'll be calling a bet 48% of the time. He'll make a hand better than yours 20% of the time. So even if he checks his whole range, and calls with a Jack or better, you've got a solid value bet. If you assume he donk-bets all his sevens, and check/calls with 8's to T's, you have a value bet. So it really just depends on the calling range of the average 10c/20c opponent, which is probably fairly wide. But a 97 is probably the worst hand I'd value bet in this spot.
