Where and when did you start playing?

At what age did you start playing poker and where? Here I started poker in the basement with friends, as I thought at the age of 16, they started playing just on the hryvnia, at that time it was $ 1 to 7 hryvnias. Well, the role in the bank increased to $ 600 for an odin deposit.

I started playing poker stars, it was 8-10 years ago, then I was 20-22 years old, and the poker room was much better than now!

Online - In early 2000's, on many sites as they became available including Absolute, Cake, Carbon, Full Tilt, Lock, Paradise, Party (2002-2006), PokerHost and any others I missed. Prior to 2005 or so, I mostly played freerolls online until I started winning them regularly.

Live - Prior to legally being able to gamble at age 18, my family hosted 7-card stud dealers choice home games so as a young kid (age 5-13), I watched and even played with them sometimes. In high school, we too had poker games for real money before online was even a thing. The first casino and real money game that I played was in the year 2000, a 2-4 limit game at the 'old' casino Morongo in lovely Cabazon, CA It has since been remodeled and upgraded. My favorite place to play in CA is the Bike, but has been a while since I have been back. I moved to Vegas in May of 2011.

I started playing at the age of 18 every week with my friends. we would meet in a house or in a bar to play and relax. At first I was just watching because I didn't understand anything about this game. But over time I sat down at the table and started making money the first day. it was alcohol and food at will and more. I was given money after having fun.

I had something similar, since I myself from Ukraine from a small town am far from your Las Vegas. No, there’s no casino, what’s so special 10 years ago

I played a little "poker" with friends in school (about 5th grade). I say "poker" in quotation marks because none of us really knew how to play well. We kind of knew (maybe half of us) which hands beat what when it came to kickers and such. We would just have huge stacks of chips and imagine we were all pros, but we didn't really understand poker lol.

Since then (years later) I've just recently began (learning basically) getting into poker. In fact, I only joined cardschat a few months ago (with only small home games as reference). I just recently started playing online a little and when the pandemic subsides I plan on going to a casino for the first time

And now pokerstars is my main destination

It was so long ago that I don't remember, it was probably in some casino in my city

I started playing poker with friends back in school. I play online poker recently. I saw an advertisement about poker sites on the Internet and decided to try myself online.

I always liked card games. I picked up poker on a holiday from my upper classmates when I was about 13-14.

Online: when I was 18 years old at pokerstars
Live: a year ago in a casino in my city

Online, I started playing about 10 years ago on full tilt poker, then switched to Stars.
Live, roughly at the same time with friends/colleagues.

Live was probably in the early 90's at a friend's house with a small group of friends. I think it was 5 Card Draw or some variant of it, where there was a wild card so there was potential for 5 of a kind. We just played for nickels, dimes and quarters, nothing big.

Online was probably just after Moneymaker, when the NHL Strike happened. I played on so many different rooms, many I don't even remember anymore, but the big two were Full Tilt and PokerStars. It's too bad that Full Tilt was run so poorly, because the best tournaments and games were always on there, and watching Poker After Dark, it was the heyday for online poker. Of course, Black Friday changed all that.

I've actually been a fairly good poker player for most of my life. In fact, whenever I had been invited to play in home games, I ended up doing well enough to not get invited back. Even though I was familiar with hold 'em, and the world series of poker, I didn't really have a strong understanding of tournament style poker. It wasn't until 2009 that I discovered SpadeClub and actually became serious about learning and playing poker.

Started playing home games with friends shortly after the 2003 wsop boom. Found myself consistently winning that game, so I tried my hand at playing online, mostly on FTP. I did reasonably well there until April 2011...

I started playing mostly in bar games and home games during the craze of 2003/2004. Once Moneymaker episodes began airing on ESPN everyone wanted to play. Eventually I found the internet games

When I started

Started playing in the eighties at the Indian casinos around Southern California. Guess I was in my mid twenties. All limit games. You couldn't find a no-limit game except in Vegas back in those days.

Over time I built up my bankroll and played in high stakes limit games all over the country. Played professionally for a number of years until my 15 year old son committed suicide. After that, my heart was no longer in it. Gave my wife my bankroll so she and my other three sons could continue to live in the comfort they were accustomed, and I took a sabbatical (lived in the streets) for about a year.

By the time my wife and I reconciled, my bankroll was pretty much used up, so I taught myself programming and got a job as a programmer at TRW.

Tried building a bankroll online only with many false starts. Government shutting down online casinos. Sites disappearing overnight. Doing pretty well now, though. We'll see how it goes.

I started learning the game somewhere around my 22 year. My brother started playing earlier and watching him play, I became interested. Anyway, it wasn't untill 2-3 years later when I started playing more regularly.

My first experience with poker was on a family vacation. I was the only kid, wearing mirrored sunglasses...looking back on it makes me laugh. I didn't play again until a few years later when I joined the navy. Was stationed in Norfolk and they had a bar league called pocket aces poker league...no money just a point leaderboard and some coupons to the bar they were playing at that night. They played all over town somewhere every night....I was hooked. Online came after that. Live casinos came after that.

My grandfather taught me, when I was 5 years old...

My friends introduced me to poker somewhere grade 8-10... started with a goofy homegame and the rest is history

Age

I started to play online through 888 poker in Jersey when I was in my mid 20's. It was a great App,legit, and I could pick up my winnings in person from the casino.

I started playing poker in my early teens in Poland. It was draw poker. I played with my father and my brother. Then I played some in college with my friends for money this time. I started playing online poker about 10 years ago on 888poker. Now I play on ggpoker and pokerstars.
