When are Mucked cards dead

At my local casino this old guy continually shows his cards to the next player and quickly throws them in the muck intentionally.. When i ask to see the cards the dealer says they have hit the muck so i can't see them.
Is this correct? or can i ask the cards to be pulled out of the muck and turned over.?

I think it is show 1, show all so if he shows them to 1 person he has to show all but I am no expert.

I ve never seen nobody show cards. I think its wrong.

One thing is sure, once a card hit the muck, nothing can be done.. even if it's a mistake done by the dealer. (see wsop 2009 catastrophies).

For the showing part I think it's different for each place.. seriously, I never encounter that situation... but you should check with the place's rules.. ask a floor man or someone in the staff or even the dealer.. they'll tell you if he can or not and how to procede if not..
