Next Friday is going to be my birthday, so I'm going to celebrate by playing a 2-day $340 $250K tournament over at the Hard Rock Cafe in Tampa. There's a $160 buy-in $50K tournament next Monday and I'll probably register in that one as well.

One time I paid $400 for a $150K tournament, and I bagged my chips for the second day, but I did not cash out.

What's the most that you've ever paid to buy-in to a live tournament, and how did it turn out for you?

Hello, I play very little live, I like to play online, but 3 years ago I won more than $ 2,000 playing chash tables, I really avoid playing live because I lost a lot of money, there are novice players who are very lucky and that goes against you

It doesn't always work out that way. There's good money to be made playing in big tournaments and cashing out. You just have to keep trying.

What were the stakes at that cash table?

I played a $450 deepstack $100k guaranteed in the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City, NJ, USA . Wasn't even close to cashing, but given the guaranteed in the tournament (part of a series) I figured $450 was just a small price to pay.

I think the highest I played was £20. I'm just not good enough to be throwing money around trying to get lucky. I dont mind losing money when its not that much but its really tilting to play at higher stakes. Gave up on 0.5/1 on wsop a few years back after losing 2 all ins in a few days with Aces v Kings. Well gutted I was.

$400 buy-in for the Colossus at last year's WSOP. Went as part of the Cardschat group...bagged chips the first day, but got bounced early in day 2...cashed for $646. Hope to go again this year...but get further.
