Hello everyone,,
Leaving tonight and just thought I'd get some tips from people who are a little more experienced. Went out there last July but only played 1 session for a few hours at Harrah's waiting for my flight. Thinking about stopping at the Wynn/Encore to play some deeper 1/3 but where else would you recommend?

The Bellagio has great atmosphere and you are almost certain to spot some big name pros...now they are not playing at the 1-3 tables, but you can watch them in Bobby's Room, which is a private room for high rollers, but they keep the doors open so you can watch from about 15 feet away.

Well, despite the member who opened the thread declaring that his query has been resolved and my inability to viably contribute much to the topic (having personally never been to Vegas), I'm probably not alone in harbouring a deep desire to be in Nevada already and am very interested in people's experiences and opinions of the various locations at which to play.

Who is Sheldo? Are they as difficult to find was Waldo and do they still run the Venetian?

For me it depends on time of day, where I am, where I have to be, and primarily the cost of the tournament I'm eyeing. Bellagio is my traditional choice, but the wait for a seat in cash games there is usually very long. I've played just about everywhere. I like most of them!

The Southpoint. 4 MTT's every day always with guarantees. And I'm just on this end of town. Never been to Red Rock and I hear great things about it. But it would be about 35 minutes for me, more in rush hour, versus 10 minutes for the Southpoint.

I know a lot of people will say the big time casinos but I really enjoyed The Orleans poker room. The TD was really nice as well as all the dealers. They had plenty of cash games for all bankrolls and daily tourneys with good value.

The major rooms in vegas are all fun, if you want lower stakes, smaller time action check out the golden nugget and the red rock. the smaller games are off the strip so its damned if you do damned if you dont.

I vote for Planet Hollywood. Lots of action, and loose play. I like the room at MGM, but it seems like most of the players know each other. Venetian has lots of games, but lots of better players.

Wynn/Encore is a very nice poker room. Good mix of talent too, good and bad players. My favorite though is the Venetian just because I’ve always had a winning session there and the drink/ service was always on point.

Years ago I enjoyed the MGM grand. It was perfect for me, atmosphere, stakes, players, staff. I played 4 nights straight, the pit boss even gave me his card and told me he would give me special room rates. Couple years later I went back and everything had changed. Small stakes. kiddie games is all they had. I found all the action you can handle at Bellagio.

One place I have always wanted to visit but never got a chance (wife hates the idea) always wanted to go to Binions Horseshoe Casino where the greats used to play, Likes of Doyle Brunsen, Chip Reese, etc.
Just to sit at the tables they used to play on would be like visiting a National Monument.

I know it’s not one of the flashier card rooms in Vegas but I really liked The Orleans. The staff was friendly, the poker room was nice and good sized, and it was run very proficiently. I’d definitely recommend it to friends.

When I went to Vegas in 2001 that was on my "must visit" list since it is such a part of gambling history. Played some stud and had a bowl of chili, which it was apparently always known for. :) Another place on my must list was Caesar's Palace, not so much for the gambling, but other parts of Vegas's history. I got to see the fountain Evel Knievel had jumped over with his motorcycle, and had a few drinks at the Galleria bar. :)

The Bellagio felt most home for me. Which is strange because it is also the cleanest, which is nothing like my home :).
