In my opinion, Spread limit poker is the biggest waste of time and money there is. If Player A has deep pockets and knows going in that in any given hand all he has to call is $500 and in non-Indian casinos, $300, Player A can call down your flopped straight with a flush draw while you have $1200 in front of you after you bet $75 preflop and $75 post flop.
Washington State is horrible like that. Thanks to the Indian Reservations in the state, online poker is outlawed because they bought them a few pollies in the legislature and had it banned and the stupid liberals, not wanting to "Offend the sacred Indians, passed the law.
Its pretty garbage.
I believe that this structure makes the variance skyrocket because people who cant call huge bet on a pair, with a draw and when they do call, they have a lot of chances to suck out, whereas in true no limit, they would have folded the hand, and if you really think about it, the casinos can use it to their advantage if they have their ponies in the game.
