Ok so you're in a tournament and you cash for $1000. How much do you tip the dealer?

A: 1%
B: 2%
C: 5%
D: 0%

My answer is D. No tips. The money is mine. I earned it. Dealers get paid. I have the risk not them.

Hello, I also choose the answer D, since during a tournament there were several dealers who handed me hands, it is different if I play cash, maybe there if I can choose to deliver some tip if I win an important well, but everything It depends on the affinity you feel for the dealer in question! In the casino of my city it is customary that when you win a large tournament they leave a percentage to the casino of tip, which goes to a common employee box and then is distributed among all!

I played in the Colossus at the wsop last summer and cashed for $646. When I went to the cage, I was asked if I wanted to leave a portion of my cash for the dealers...I left $20. While waiting in line for my turn, I did notice that out of about 25 other players cashing in at the same time, not one left a tip. Now $20 is not much, but if most players left even a small amount, it would certainly help the dealers who work for minimal wages.

Congrats man. I played my first WSOP event last year as well. The Big 50, and cashed for $1001. I didn't leave any additional tip for the dealers but in the future I think if the "rake" structure for the tournament seems fair and I cash for a decent amount I may leave a small tip as you did here. If I run very deep, I may be more generous. Assuming that there were no major issues with dealers during the tournament of course.

It depends so much on the dealer...

But like you, my first thing in mind is to not tip the dealer... It may depends on where you are, for example here in brazil we do not have the costume to tips waiter and waitress but I know that is something commom in other countries :D
