What are some reasons you may have tilted outside of the bad beat and how bad do you tilt (ie swear, name call, throw things (i hope not) etc.

I play in a Regional League so I know most of the players at the table. I unfortunately tilt when people throw out little quips or jabs at me whether I won a hand or lost a hand. Mean spirited folk.

I am trying to figure a way to control this... possible start wearing ear plugs. What have you done?

Don't notice it. Once you answered on this you are on tilt. Then recall time before this.

I always have this mentality of 'I want you money' when i sit on a table.
"You can curse and swear or taunt whatever you want...i just want your money".
Just think of how nice it is to bring home those stack of cash and nice clothes, make ups, Blings Blings you can buy with it.

Believe me, it is very easy to control tilt if you just focus on the Greens.

Turn off chat if it distracts you.

Yeah tilt is one of the main reasons. I get tilted most of the time and just bust bankroll in bigger buy-ins. I really can't control tilt for now, one of the things I need to learn and stick to bankroll management.

Tilting is definitely one of my biggest poker flaws, but a lot of people can relate. I lose to a bad beat and then I go into higher buy-ins and go crazy there and end up losing the majority of my balance. A real shame.

A big reason for me tilting is when my pocket aces losses to low cards
That makes me sick, because the best hands possible looses to dumb hands

It makes me sick inside. And I get offense. Not cursing orso. But being a bit loud

When I play live, I am always on vacation, so I am usually more mellow. Bad beats happen and I know and expect that as part of the game. When someone gets in my face either to rub salt in the wound for a bad beat or to intimidate you in the middle of a hand, I usually just smile at them...when a player is loud and obnoxious, politely smiling at them drives them crazy...put them on tilt instead of you tilting.

I always turn off chat. I don’t play at real tables. Now, indeed, many in the chat write insults and all sorts of nonsense.

The worst was when I got a phone call from my girlfriend saying I forgot our anniversary. Couldn't focus at all after that as she was so upset.

Thank U 4 Posting

We all need to work on our game. The mental game aspect is very important. So you have a chance here to work on a skill that will help you on the table and in the rest of your life interactions as well.

Step 1
Why does it matter what someone says about you?
Really try to go deep on that question.

Step 2
Recognizing the lack of importance of an action.

Have you ever been to the zoo and had monkeys throw poop at you?
Did it make you freak out?
Did it hurt your feelings?
Did you yell at the monkeys?
Did you want to prove to the monkeys that you are one of the good people at the zoo?

Evolution suggests when you are in a poker game you are seated across from some ???

Monkeys.

As you noticed already what they say is mostly just poop.

Hope this helps

:):)

It can be tough to deal with tilt. Especially if you are an emotional person. Best thing, probably, is to take a break if you feel that feeling coming on. Eat, breathe, relax for a bit, take a walk, anything that might help your calm and focus return.
