Hello Cards Chat Grinders,

Texas has poker clubs instead of casinos. Casinos are illegal. So these card clubs can't rake pots. Instead they make you buy memberships and rent the chairs at the table hourly for $15.

The stakes available are:
$1-$2 NL Hold Em $50 minimum buy in $200 max buy in
$1-$3 NL Hold Em $50 minimum buy with uncapped max
$5-$5 NL Hold Em $300 minimum buy with uncapped max

The membership fee is $10 for a daily membership or a monthly that's around $250.

I would like to play $1-$2 but it seems with the rental fee's it might be hard to grind it out. How would you experienced as well as successful live poker players attack this one? Thank you

P.s. Don't just say move to Vegas :D

Good Luck To All:cool:

Unless things have changed a lot, Texas always used to be awash in backroom games.

My last employer was headquartered in North Houston. There was a decent cash game in the back room of a swingers club of all places, just over the freeway from our office. The hotel I'd use offered discount rooms to guests at the swingers club (no on site sex allowed there), and it was a couple of them, in the hotel hot tub one afternoon, that told me about the poker game.
