i hate playing with drunks. they always slow down the game or do something stupid. i was playing a 2/5 game at thd local casino. he was being obnosious, slowing down the game, being very rude to everyone. then they cut him off he got very mad and kept saying that someone stole his money. no one stole his money he just donked off 5 buy in of $500 to $1,000 . thats the reason we were putting up with his behavior but when they cut him off he ordered food. ate his food then vomited all over the table. it was gross. well they escorted him out to the bathroom n we all changed tables. he was a ultimate player so they put up with his crap. i seen him again a month later and he was drunk again. i would have thought he would have learned but i guess not. well they put me on the same table with him n he was up. he had what looked like 10grand . i bought in for 1000 n he doubled me up 3x in a row. after 1 orbit i had about 4,500 in front of me. he kept calling me names n kept drinking calling me a nit cause i was only playing quality cards. well after berating me for about 10 min. grabed my money and started to leave he then he said i was hit n running i said i didnt want to put up with his crap n name calling. he said he would quit if i stayed i said ok but if you call me a name 1more time im calling the floor. well about 20 min later i got dealt pocket kings so i raised to $100 under the gun. the button called n he was the big blind n raised me to $400 i just called n the button called. it flops AK9 rainbow. he bet $1000 i just called n the button who had about 1200 goes all in. he calls n so did i. the turn was was 7. he bet $1500 . i had about $3000 i go all in he snap calls n the river was a2. well he had AK. button had set of 9s. and i won with aset of kings. after that hand he started calling me names again. the dealer called the floor n floor gave him a warning i told him if he called me a name again i was leaving. and he did .well i started getting my chips together he took a swing at me but missed. the floor n dealer took him to the ground. n called security. security escorted him out. i stayed n played a few hours more. i left that night winning about 8 grand when i cashed out. n i havent seen him since.

So - congratulations for finding a live one! I am actually just jealous reading your post.

But it does not sound like you enjoyed the experience but instead put up with his antics.

Winning $8k in one poker session thanks to a player with a big ego and little skill has got to be worth it!

Personally I know that playing with drunk players is often profitable. But I don't always enjoy it. And yet sometimes they are individuals just out to have a good time and poker is just part of their evening.

I have enjoyed playing with drunk players on occasion. Like you say they slow the game down and you just have to have more patience. And then many times they were invited to leave by management because they were too loud - too drunk - too uncooperative.

When table selecting I am not always looking for drunk players because is that what I want to do with my life? Sit in the company of drunks and tolerate their antics while I am sober? Answer: Sometimes

Good luck !

It sounds like you may have thin skin or a lack of tools / people skill to maneuver some of these situations if you truly "hate" winning 8k a night because some guy was talking slick to you. I'd work on dealing with this if I were you because as your story indicates these players can be a gold mine. Obviously you need to have your wits about you to be able to dodge the occasional vomit projectile or drunken hay maker but dealing with insults at a poker table shouldn't be that soul crushing. If you can't figure a way to resolve the issue via conversation, jokes, silence, or the casino staff, just rack up and switch tables and stop negotiating about staying or not staying after the fact. Nice score though!

Watch the video of Scotty Nguyen playing the wsop which he subsequently apologized for. Drunk play can definitely cross a line, it's not as simple as should be +ev for you/deal with the obnoxious behaviour

I've been at the table with plenty of drunks over the years and it isn't fun playing with them when they slow up the game and act belligerent, but you have to keep your cool and outplay them as best as you can. Him swinging on you definitely wasn't a good move, but good thing he didn't connect and security was there to make sure it didn't turn into anything worse. In the end you walked away up a pretty decent amount so I'd say that's a win in my book.

Playing wtih drunks is fun if you are drunk yourself. Otherwise it is really annoying if hands take very long when players talk all sorts of crap and don't pay attention to game :D

unless the he is high roller the casino should have escorted him out look before he even tossed his cookies. They give high rollers more slack. As long as you are taking his money let it go. Remember "sticks and stones". I have played with a few inebriated people, never tosse their cookies drunk. One was very bad so I changed table. The others were just pissed, so there tells where magnified 10 fold and at times even asked if their cards were higher then say a ten, hahahaha, sometimes they tell you. Only one I had to put him in his place and he sulked for about 4 hands then started to pick on someone else.

hi.Yes, with drunkards, the game is fun.)))) it is always not predictable, the good thing is that they make a lot of mistakes and, as a rule, lose.

I love to play with drunks, it does suck when the game slows down and sometimes it's not worth it but, in general yes it makes for a good and interesting game.

Hello.
And we always play live with our friends with drinks, but not for big bets. And swearing is forbidden here.
For any obscene word - a penalty :thumpdown:thumpdown.

Playing with drunks can be interesting to so the least. My favorite was this one guy who sat down to the table with $300. 1st hand delay he called a raise for about $10.00. in the bb along with 3 others. He lead out on the flop for about 1/2 pot and got re-raised and called. He then checked called a large bet on the turn. On the rived he check and the better went all in and this gut insta called and proudly showed his ten high. He looked at the other guys set and said he was bluffing and then got up and waled away from the table. The whole table just stared in disbelief at this guy as he walked away. The guy called an all in as a bluff. You just cant make up this stuff that drunk players do.
