I’ve recently been noticing several so called “legal” poker clubs opening in different cities in Texas. They’ve found a loophole in the law which states that a poker place cannot profit from hosting a poker game. They’re starting to sell memberships with a daily table fee that’s covers waitress tips. They’re a local shop in town that’s charges a daily membership fee of $10 with a $8 table fee. It’s a little steep in my eyes.

I can drive 70 miles to the Texas / Oklahoma border and find an Indian casino. It's theWinstar Casino. Damn shame that Texas is so far behind the rest of the country.

When I go to Winstar ( which is not very often due to driving an 18 year old car ) the parking lot is almost all Texas license plates. Just look at the tax money the state is losing. When I do go I play the $65 dollar Tournaments. Usually around 90 or 100 players.

It's said that Winstar is the largest casino in the world. Shaped like a horseshoe, it's suppose to be 1 mile from one end to he other. I walked it once and would have to agree. They have a nice poker room with around 50 tables. The poker room is a non-smoking room.

Yes, I've been there. They do have a nice poker room. It makes up for the lack of free booze....lol. There is a Indian Casino semi-close to my location. Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino. It's the only casino in Texas. It's small but it does have a poker room.
