I never played but I believe that it is not so different once you already have experience in the game you already know the rules and the techniques, if you already played tell your experience the first time at a real table.:jd4:

I used to play only live for a long time before switching to online...a few thingsto keep in mind if youve never played live...make sure you read and understand that particular casinos "house rules" sometimes they are different than online and little things can make a big difference. So make sure u know what you can and cant do...for example...if someone bets 1 dollar. And you say i call and raise you 2 dollars. Ive seen this happen and the casino says you cant raise because u said call before that, get what im saying? So just try to keep in mind little things like that...even a simple word or sentence can cause issues for you ..best of luck though

I have also not played the live game with real cards. They have a live game at the Elements Casino. Its about 60km from where I live, but this would be a big investment as the smallest game would be 1$/2$ blinds, so pretty much $200 per buy-in. I would think the games would be very soft compared to online, but I have played neither NL200 or Live 1$/2$ so I have no clue. Since its the lowest buy-in, I would probably assume many recreational players.

I guess one big difference is not showing emotions when you get the nice hand made or making/missing a draw. Online it does not matter because nobody sees you.

Believe me, playing online and in real life it's soooo different. I think it's better live poker.

Just follow what everybody else does so you can get used to the table etiquette...Try and observe what other people do and you will be ok m8. Online is nowhere near like playing in real life with real chips in front of you and the highs and lows of winning and losing hands :)

I have only played a few times but cashed a couple of times. It's said it s harder online. Online your often up against thousands of players for a lot longer so if you do well online you should be fine at live, just watch your tells lol! More awkward having to arrange your stacks and you do not have anything telling you the pot size (although you could ask if big decision) so you need to try and keep track of that.

Hi. I played 3 offline mtts. It's completely different. A lot of people around, you are getting nervous and sweating. And you need a poker face, no emotions. Well, permanent excitement might work. Twice I forgot to spell "raise" and my bets were considered as a call so I lost some chips and value. Also I acted when it wasn't my turn. So you need to be much more patient at the real table.

I've played offline once (local poker tournament for my area) and finished 4th. I feel there is more pressure (or was just the way I felt) than online. It's a WHOLE different experience to online than to offline.

I played a few times on cruise ships

I played on cruise ships on electronic tables. Live players sit at the electronic table, each player has their own viewing area where they can see their hole cards and the table is shown in the middle of the play area (table top) just like you see it online.

I did quite well, cashed out with good profit.

Live poker is way better. No comparison. You can observe and gain so much more information from your opponents when they are sitting with you.

Literally I have talked players into folding their superior hand when playing live.

"Just fold it bro...I'll show you!"

I have yet to achieve that online.....players like to click the call button...

Good luck !

A lot of people live must try and give false tells too. Like fake nervousness when holding strong hands. Nearly all my experience is online though. I do find it easier having so much of the information on the screen.

I have no poker face , they would know when I hold monster hands from the first second . Maybe that's a reason I avoid visiting my local casino , besides there are so many great sharks at the cash tables , there , waiting for fish like me , such stories I have heard about . I think I would lose my money at the first 5 min , 10 min max :D
So yes , I believe there are differences between live and online , I prefer online , more options :)

To my bad luck, my first time in a room was in a casino, as personal advice, first go to a home room that to a casino. There are many rules and techniques that I missed, likewise, the well count is usually something that you do not have in live poker compared to online. Today, I'm regular at live cash tables :)

if you going to play live poker play at low levels, do not risk or invest a lot of money, a live real money table is not a good place to learn play poker

He was only 18 years old and had always played poker recreationally since he was 13 years old on the Internet. I went to the Conrad casino in Punta del Este in Uruguay, since it was next to a hotel where I was staying with only $ 200. Not only was it the first time I was going to play poker at a real table, but the When I first entered a casino, I had to find out everything (which was more or less formality). That same day there was a free satellite for a tournament of $ 1500 buy-in that gave 2 or 3 hundred, I'm not sure (it was 2 years ago) I signed up and started playing; I came without playing 6 months ago at that time. I became a chip leader, but crossed paths with a pair of aces played passively on a board that I connected very well. It was not really bad, 80 players in the tournament and I finished sixth in the final table, and they only charged 4, I had really played very tight and that led me to change my game for the next day.
Day 2, tournament Buy-in 100 dollars K.O. Reward of $ 40 for elimination, 25 players, I signed up. I started too much playing NIT that I could play hands like 2-4 and then I lost them, leaving half of the initial stack. In that, I received a JJ from heaven to which I send everything and I pay 2 players, FLOP K-10-A and that's when I said: I'm dead but ... no, they went to the river and in the moment of the confrontation, I had the best hand and, from that moment on, my stack did not stop coming up with many KO in front. I arrived at the final table, with 4 players and was the one with the least chips, only charged 3. This was where we decided to agree that the 4th would take the sum of $ 200 leading a bit to the first and second place, they all agreed. I managed to eliminate 1, the big pile was eliminated to another, and finally in the heads-up I was second, so I charged my first fee in a live tournament, in my second time playing. And then there was a day 3 in which I played very badly, and it's not worth talking about that, hehe.

I've played once or twice with friends with real money but it felt weird to play for real cash. Chips are less intimidating. I feel like it's way different since you can read opponent. It feels harder but it's the same math! You need to reach that poker face level haha

Live is a lot of fun and it makes it easier to read people but at the same time it's a lot harder because they can read you as well. Also playing online you can play multiple tables and do other things but in live you have to pay attention the whole time so you don't disrupt the tables flow. It forces you to focus a lot more and have patience when waiting for good cards.

Be careful of playing out of turn. Online you can't play out of turn obviously, but new live players may sometimes accidentally play out of turn or not properly follow the action (for example trying to call not realizing that someone had raised in an earlier position) It can leave for an awkward moment at the table.
