Hello,

I am busy building a bankroll currently and have thought about becoming a poker dealer as I am familiar with the game and like working nights. While I don't have any dealing experience I am thinking of doing this online course:

Online poker course

Do you think this would help to show potential employers that I am keen or can I simply learn on the job?

You can definitely not learn on the job.

Most places even run their own schooling.

But that will be easier for you to master, than for new people.

Are you planning on making this a career? Will you relocate to a city where you can get a job? Do you have dependents? Can you support yourself till you get established? Is the online course credible? Have you asked yourself all these questions and dozens more? And answered honestly?
Pay attention to the other responses - that robots and automation will eventually take over this job. You will have to be prepared for a career change somewhere down the road. Good luck with your plans.

If you live near an Indian Casino, some of them will train you for a week or so to see if you have ability, let you work for free for a month with a dealer watching you on low level game, my neighbor did this in SoCal, now works at Aqua Caliente in Desert

"howtoreadtarot.wixsite.com/becomeapokerdealer" is not the url of a site from whom I would want to learn poker dealing. As has been stated, Gaming Commissions and Card Rooms have their Approved training programs. Usually, it is necessary to obtain certification before starting to work. Any outside training would be an "extra" to put on your resume. With training from this site, you at least would be able to deal NLHE from a tarot deck. But be careful, as the old joke goes, if you deal someone a full house, several people may die!

Well, if you want to take courses and want to become a dealer in the game, you should be in a place where afterwards you will work permanently as a dealer and where a casino in the city is allowed, I wish you good luck in finding and in training courses so that you can become an excellent dealer!

I do not believe that an online course can form a dealer, in fact the practice of the dealer has to be exactly where he goes to work, to train with the cards of the casino, with the chips. it's a job that really needs a lot of skill. here at CardsChat there are members who play poker online and work from dealer to casino.

A simple solution is to ask some of the dealers at your local casino questions. They usually provide training. Also the more games you learn and run your pay typically increases along with it.

Multiply 2x2 and publish the result. If will 4-you not player. In poker, the answer is 5.3 .Why? Learn the cards.

So here is the thing, I would suggest finding some home games or leagues around your area and ask to deal... this will get you through the initial understanding of what it really takes to be a dealer. After you pick up some understanding about keeping up the pace and making players happy... which isn't easy... you will need to spend time learning the shuffle... riff riff box riff.. after that you will have to work on keeping up with the action, not exposing cards when burning, and side pots. If you get a decent understanding of these and can move at a decent pace not too fast most players actually like regular pace so they can follow what the dealer is doing.. then go to your local casino and ask for an audition. If you pass then you won't need the class, just your gaming badge. which upon employment you can get. They will want you to be on call for wsop and series events. Good luck and hope you enjoy.
