I was in Vegas June 11-15 right after some of the
casinos opened. Stayed at Sam's Town on Boulder Hwy. Disappointed that the poker room was still closed, but the traffic is still pretty slow. Wouldn't really be much action, I think. I like playing the tourneys and I believe it may be a while until they return.
Drove down the Strip a few times ... not much happening there either. Valet parking is still closed and didn't go in since self-park is too far of a walk for me with my COPD. Street traffic is very light, but makes getting into good restaurants easy. Social distance seating was practiced. All buffets are still closed, but good food joints are my preference anyway.
BJ tables were pretty sparse too with the staggered seating. Craps tables were quiet. It's going to take a while.
Didn't see any 'protest' activity, but heard there was a few groups hanging around Paradise Road. Didn't go there.
They were doing temperature scans on entering and masks were optional for guests, mandatory for staff. No housekeeping in the rooms unless specifically requested. We're going back mid-August, but may need masks inside too. NV Governor just mandated masks for ALL.
