Do I have to be a resident of canada to play poker stars or can I travel from Buffalo NY (as a USA resident) over the border and play legally?

I think it would be a good idea to ask pokerstars Support Team. In addition to asking if legal when traveling to Canada... I'd ask what that meant for withdrawing your winnings.

I think I have heard of PRO players that travel for big online tournaments, so fairly confident PokerStars can answer this question for you.

Sorry, I misread your question before.

You legally will be able to play on PS when you are in canada, but it may become very complicated to deposit and withdraw funds.

I have heard of many US pros travelling to canada to be able to play in big online events, so it definately is a option.

How you can set up an account, this I am not sure of.

Canadians traveling to the US will not be able to play while in the US, as the restriction is based on location and not residency as far as I know.

Thanks. I live only 15 minutes from Canada so this is why I’m asking. Figured it would be cool to rent a room monthly and drive each night to Canada to grind the nightly tournaments. Not sure if they’d make me prove citizenship to deposit and withdraw funds.
